During the next month, an exhibition devoted to the memory of the Tomsk painter, teacher, professor of the TSPU Raphael Egorovich Aslanyan will be operating at the Tomsk Regional Art Museum. Devoted to the the artist's 70th anniversary, the exhibition will include the works of Rafo, as the master of the brush and canvas called himself, as well as the works of his pupils. During the opening ceremony, the museum's deputy director Nikolai Vasenkin quoted a famous classic: "Those from whom we learn can be called our teachers, but not every teacher deserves that title."

Employees of the Art Museum recalled the life, profession and creativity of Raphael Aslanyan :

"There are good artists, there are good teachers, and there are those who managed to blend these two talents: Raphael became a teacher for young artists of Tomsk. Rafo is a truly teacher. For several decades of pedagogical activity in various educational institutions if Tomsk he carefully brought up dozens of pupils and followers, many of whom forever linked their destiny with fine art and became independent masters.

Working as a teacher at the Tomsk College of Culture, at the Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Raphael Aslanyan remained a teacher even outside the walls of official educational institutions - he was the head of the studio at the Tomsk Art Fund, he gathered with students in his workshop. He always had a lot of students who considered it an honor to learn from such a master. All of them remember RaphaelYegorovich with warmth and great respect. In 2018, Raphaelwould would have turned 70 years old, and the exhibition, originally conceived as a broad retrospective of the work of Rafo, with the artist's departure was meaningfully and formally changed. This jubilee exposition that became a tribute to the respect, memory and gratitude of numerous students to their dear teacher.

Raphael Egorovich Aslanyan was born in 1948 in the Armenian city of Kirovakan (now Vanadzor). He received his education at the Yerevan Art and Theater Academy (1971-1976), where his teacher was the People's Artist of the Armenia Sarkis Mambreevich Muradyan, a student of the great Martiros Saryan. The first exhibitions of Raphael begun in 1978. Personal exhibitions took place in Russia and abroad, including the USA. Since 1998, the artist lived and worked in Tomsk.  Over these years his name has become a landmark of our city, and his work is an integral part of the cultural space of Siberia.

Aslanyan offered the viewer his own vision and understanding of the world around him, an opportunity to find an answer to the complex questions of being. Raphael Aslanyan was an outstanding colorist,  who used all the possibilities of color: from bright contrasts to subtle nuances. The creative search, the desire to change, the expression that can be found in all the works of the artist, became the defining elements of his author's style and were assimilated to a different degree by his students.

The students of Rafo have travveled around the country, many continued their education in the art colleges of Krasnoyarsk, Moscow and St. Petersburg, but they managed to preserve the spirit of friendship that was formed in the hospitable workshop of Aslanyan. Interesting, multifaceted, working in a variety of techniques - they all feel united by the bright sunlight that their teacher brought to severe Siberia from his native Armenia. "Rafo taught us to be artists, through pure and sonorous colors he put solar heat into our hearts, shared not only his technical techniques, but his own special energy." We want his energy of love for the world to continue to live in our works" explains the concept of the exhibition one of the organizers, the artist and teacher Anastasia Khartularia.

While admission campaign is pickin up speed  students if the Faculty of Biology and Chemistry has finished summer field practices and the third year students finished their practice in agriculture and plant physiology and chemistry:

"At first we passed the botany practic, supervised by Minich Irina Borisovna, and visited numerous "green islands" within and outside Tomsk, and in Timiryazevskoye village we visited the Tomsk Forest Museum located in a picturesque pine forest. Information on forest, its flora and fauna, the history of development and the current state of the forestry industries of the Tomsk region is presented in the Museum. On the forest area near to the museum one cas see the main forest-forming species, grasses and shrubs, plants exotic for our region: thuja and euonymus, oak and Padus maackii, fustic and ash, elm and velvet Amur, Manchurian nut and Kuril tea .In order to study the aquatic vegetation, we visited the sandy lake (Timiryazevskoye village), the Chaginsky swamp (the complex nature monument of the Tomsk region , the area is 40 hectares), where peat and the process of its formation were studied.

We visited specially protected natural area of Kolarovo village, climbed 315 stairs to the place of our research of plants, worked in the center of Tomsk on Novo-Sobornaya Square. Future teachers should be able to discover somethin new in already familiar places!
As part of the practice of zoology invertebrates under the leadership of Lydia Valentinovna Lukyantseva, we visited the Botanicheskoe Lake, the White Lake. Students studied and described various animals - insects, arachnids, zoobenthos. "And now all the lessons are over... Until September, my dear university!

Specialists of Tomsk State Pedagogical University took part in the exhibition of projects of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research (RFBR). The event was held within the framework of the second All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference "Improving the System of Interaction between the RFBR and the Subjects of the Russian Federation in the Organization of Regional and Youth Competitions".

The Tomsk State Pedagogical University selected works on the humanities, one of which was implemented by the Department of Languages ​​of the Peoples of Siberia. The head of the department is E.A. Kryukova presented the e project "Electronic multimedia database of the disappearing languages ​​of Siberia." The exhibition also presented stands "Methodology of information modeling mechanisms of self-organization of sociocultural systems" and "Bioethics: the creation of a new symbolism" (project manager Melik-Gaikazyan, Doctor of Philosophy, Honored Worker of the Higher School of the Russian Federation, Head of the Department of History and Philosophy science of TSPU), as well as "Investigation of the problems of contact interaction of indigenous languages ​​and cultures of Western Siberia in terms of language assimilation using databases on endangered languages ​​of Siberia "(project manager A.J. Filchenko, candidate of philological sciences, associate professor, Ph.D. Linguistics, professor of department of languages ​​of the peoples of Siberia Tomsk State Pedagogical University).

Projects of TSPU were presented to the participants of the conference. In the course of the conversation with the Chairman of the RFBR Council V. Ya. Panchenko eceryone agreeed that it is important to support humanitarian projects, especially for purposes of the socio-economic development of the region.

Students of Siberian universities celebrated the International Olympic Day with a sports tournament among representatives of the Association of Student Basketball. The team of Tomsk State Pedagogical University became the best among women teams that took part in the competition.

The games were held in a format of street basketball on one of the city's sports ground. The eight-hour Tomsk marathon was attended by teams from Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo. The basketball players of TSPU shoed excellent results : the girls won the competition and got the cup!

Summer session of "Summer in the city project" was opened by the TSPU team "With kindness in hears". During two weeks (until the 7th of July) students of the university will be working with kids who are spending summer vacation in the city.

Every day from 10.00 to 14.00 the students of the camp will organize cultural and educational activities for kids of Tomsk: workshops, creative activities, detachment work, sports games, games that help making friends etc. This season, the work of the camp is dedicated to the Year of the Volunteer. Following the topic, the initiators and organizers of the project, employees and students of the TSPU, plan to introduce the children to different areas of volunteer activity, as well as communicate with representatives of the volunteer movement, who will tell in detail about themselves and their business.

Despite the summer, ciltural and educational activites are in full swing at the TSPU. Participants of "Summer in the city" project entertain and educate the youngest children of Tomsk. Older kids decided to spend summer time at the TSPU centre for additional physicomathematical and natural education.  The first weeks of June students of the gymnasium № 18 spent at the TSPU.

Teachers and students of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics organized entertaining lessons in physics, mathematics, computer science and astronomy for participants of the summer course. The children got acquainted with the amazing properties of the liquid , understood the actions of simple mechanisms, got acquainted with the main constellations of the star sky, got an idea of ​​the structure of the solar system and size of space objects, carried out practical work, competed  in the mathematical game, created their own computer game.

In the end of "Summer School of Entertaining Science" there was an exciting quest game "In search of sacred knowledge." Not all of the quests' tasks turned out to be simple for the participants, but no one gave up, the kids passed all the tests with honor and obtained the "sacred knowledge".

Today, the doors of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University has opened for future students - applicants of 2018. The specialists of the admission committee has begun their hard work: our assistants will anwer all your questions concernong the admission, help you to fill in the documents, tell you about the peculiarities of studying under the programs of full-time and correspondence forms of bachelor, specialist and master programs at the faculties of TSPU.

According to the tradition, the staff of the university congratulated the first-year students of the full-time and extramural courses with the memorable gifts. The first applicant of 2018 became Barysheva Ekaterina Anatolyevna , who came from the city of Strezhevoy to enter the faculty of psychological, pedagogical and special education. In the future, Ekaterinadreams of becoming a speech therapist. Higher education, obtained at the Tomsk State Pedagogical University, is an essential step towards achieving this goal! Skvortsov Maxim Viktorovich decided to associate his life with sport and applied for the faculty of physical culture and sports.

The Center for Additional Physical, Mathematical and Natural Science Education of the TSPU hosted a mini competition "Martian roboralli", which was the result of the common work of the research and development club on astronomy and cosmonautics.

The amount of earned points was based on the results of the obstacle course, and the time that took competitors to pass it. The first place was taken by the team "Feras" of the School No. 64 (consisting of Fedotov Victor and Pochekutov Arseniy). The teams "Vezdehod" (consisting of Denisov Daniil and Vasiliev Evgeniy) and "Ferra" (consisting of: Andrey Tarasenko and Veronika Starikova) scored the same number of points and divided the second place. All participants of the competition were awarded with certificates and sweet prizes.

The cosmonautics and astronomy clubs was organized within the framework of the TSPU grant project "Design and Research Activities of Schoolchildren in the Sphere of Astronautics and Astronomy" (part of All-Russia projects "People of the Future").

The team of employees of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University won the third place in the basketball competitions that took place within the framework of the 12th Sport competitions among the Workers of the Soviet District of the City of Tomsk.

Our specialists managed to demonstrate excellent sports training. As a result of the competition, the TSPU team won the III place and was awarded with the cup. All participants received medals, diplomas and souvenirs.
