Ricahrd Ernst from Carleton University ( Ottawa, Canada) have met with the schoolchildren interested in astronautics at TSPU.  Canadian researcher had delivered a popular science lecture and explained the young participants of the "Space lesson" how the geology of a planet may influence its climate.

At the moment there is an unique phenomenon takes place on Earth — Kīlauea vulcano on the Hawaiian Islands has been erupting since May. During the eruption the lava is being hardened and it goes beneath the hard layers finds its way through the cracks and flows to the ocean. On other places on Earth as well as on the Moon, Venus, Mercury and Mars the results of vulcanic activities  as lava riverbeds and rock overlap can also be observed. Scientists are studying the planet from photos taken from spacecraft, and restore tectonic events. The inner part of the planet has a high temperature, which together with the solar radiation determines the temperature and climate on the surface.

 Richard Ernst in great details has explained these processes to the Tomsk schoolchildren, showing the generality of the processes that krrp on taking place on the Earth, with processes on other planets of the solar system. The listeners were interested in the questions: how to study the surface and geology of the planets, is it possible to know from geological data whether there was life on the planet, what is the peculiarity of Venus, what results were obtained during the study of its volcanism. Schoolchildren received detailed answers from the professor.

Scientists of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University were included in the editorial boards of the uthoritative scientific magazines.

Iosif Bukhbinder, Doctor of Physics and Mathematics, Head of the Theoretical Physics Department of the TSPU, became a member of the editorial board of "Symmetry", an international open access journal that is indexed in the international databases of Scopus, WoS and is devoted to studies rof the phenomenon of symmetry in any of its manifestations.

Valery Vladimirovich Obukhov, Rector of TSPU, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Sergey Dmitrievich Odintsov, Chief Researcher, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Andrei Nikolaevich Makarenko, First Vice-Rector of TSPU, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, joined the editorial board of the magazine "Space, Time and fundamental interactions" - the Russian scientific peer-reviewed edition devoted to the problems of the theory of space, time and gravitation, special and general theory of relativity, relativistic cosmology and astrophysics

The  European Sambo Championship took place in Athens, where the student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the TSPU Valeria Anisimova became won the silver medal. This is the first award of the Tomsk region of the in the history of Sambo European Championship. 

More than 350 athletes from 29 countries gathered in Athens. As part of the Russian national team Valeria, a student of TSPU, a student of the Tomsk Regional Sports School of the Olympic Reserve, a sports instructor of the children's and youth sports school "Rus" won a silver medal in the 64 kg weight class. 

"I am very grateful to Valeria for the medal, evein if it is silver. In the final she lost to the world leader in this weight category, the repeated world and European champion Tatyana Matsko from Belarus. I'm sure this is not their last meeting and in the future we will try to take revenge! Of course, this is the next step in the sports career of Valeria Anisimova, I think the debut in the adult team turned out to be not the worst and we have something to strive for" said Denis Vyshegorodtsev, coach of the sportswoman.

The conference «Russian speech culture and text» dedicated to the 25^th anniversary of department of Russian language had united more than 20 scientists, post-graduate students, undergraduates, students, teachers of Tomsk and Tomsk region.

During two days, important issues were discussed at the plenary meetings and workshops, devoted to the new approaches to studying the text and its units, to the current state and history of Russian speech culture, to texting in various spheres of communication, including media communication.

68 people from 17 cities of Russia, China and Kazakhstan, from 34 educational institutions of the country and abroad made their reports.

Members of the volunteer team "Point of view" of TSPU became participants of the All-Russian camp of student social projects "People need you!" Teams from all over Russia met in the Sports and Recreation Center ar the St. Petersburg University of Information Technologies, Mechanics and Optics, located on the shore Lake Berestovoye of the Leningrad Region.

For four days, students of the TSPU Anna Leschinskaya and Ekaterina Dogonovskaya defended the honor of the university by presenting the project "Children of the One Sun" - a cultural and educational program successfully implemented by the TSPU team ыштву 2015. The program is developed for the children with disabilities from Tomsk and Seversk. TSPU students conduct creative and educational master classes, organize entertainment events, celebrate holidays with them.

The event was timed to the Volunteer Day in Russia. Our students met with more than 130 young activists from all over the country. "During the all four days we took part in master classes, attended lectures, filmed social videos, discussed with experts, and then presented our projects, - Anna says. - From each expert we received advice and recommendations for improving our campaign. We will keep on working! And the next stage is the implementation of projects using new knowledge and skills. The results of the entire program will be summed up this fall "

Within the framework of the cooperation program of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University with the schools of Tomsk, fourth-year students of the Faculty of History and Philology of the TSPU conducted an educational game for the students of the 9th grade of the School No. 49.

Schoolchildren actively participated in the creative, intellectual and even sports stages of the game. They answered quiz questions, represented visualizations of poems, participated in the contest of readers, created collages using the works of V. Shershenevich, R. Ivnev, S. Yesenin. 

The guys were pleased with this interesting and exciting educational game and said that they are looking forward to such lessons . For students this event became a great experience in the their future teaching profession.

Activists of the student television studio "TV TSPU" won the main award of the All-Russian Festival "Together Media - 2018" and were awarded with the title of "Best Student Editorial". The work of TSPU students became the best among more than three hundred applicants for the victory, "TV TSPU" won the Grand Prix and the status of "Best Student Edition of Russia".

"374 works were submitted for the competition, and more than 160 representatives of student editions and participants were included in the shortlist of the contest that took place in Moscow. In Moscow, we were able to discuss our materials with representatives of the expert council, which included 27 media professionals. Only thanks to teamwork we, the future media specialists, managed to win a number of prizes, as well as to declare the talent and aspiration of TSPU students! TSPU students showed amazing results in the Competition among Siberian universities "Social Pedagogy of Modern Russia: Challenges of Time" and brought the first prize to Tomsk!

The Competitionwas held last week in Krasnoyarsk. Gudilina Anastasia, Pupysheva Alexandra, Savenkova Cristina under the guidance of the teaching assistant of social pedagogy TS. Gorokhovoy.

Students of TSPU have demostrated the following results:

1 place in the competition of business cards of the teams "Profession of the future: the social educator of our region";

3 place in the contest of videos "Social teacher outside the stereotypes."

According to the overall standings, the TSPU team became the winner of the "Social Pedagogy of Contemporary Russia: Challenges of Time" competition.

Filatova Ksenia Dmitrievna, master of the faculty of preschool and primary education, was awarded the third prize in the "Social Work". nomination at the IV National championship of professional skills for people with disabilities "Abilimpics - 2018".

About four years ago Ksenia found calling for preschool pedagogy. At the moment, the undergraduate student of TSPU is professionally employed in the Family Club "Clouds", where she conducts comprehensive developmental activities for preschool children, including the "Mother + baby (1-2, 2-3, 3-4 years)" program. "The main goal of participation in the contest is to defend the honor of the university," Ksenia notes. - Social work - not exactly the competence in which I was interested, despite the fact that I have a good experience in this field. My destiny is a teacher of preschool education, but unfortunately there is no such competitive direction ".

The Championship of Tomsk Oblast "Abilimpics" is designed to promote the professional participation of students, graduates and young professionals with disabilities or limited health opportunities in the regional labor market.

Competitions in each competence lasted for four hours, it was followed by more than 2,000 people: students, graduate students, schoolchildren, students of technical schools and colleges. As part of the business program of the Tomsk Championship, round tables were held, participants discussed the employment of disabled people, the acquisition of vocational education by children with disabilities and their self-determination.
