Do I need recognition of my foreign educational document to apply to a Russian university?

Up-to-date information on the requirements for foreign educational documents when applying to Russian universities can be found at http://nic.gov.ru/. Please note that for admission to a full degree program, a certificate of recognition of foreign education (if required) must be submitted together with your application documents. For admission to the preparatory department and Russian language courses, a previous education document is not required.

Can I enroll at TSPU with a visa issued for study at another university?

International students may enroll only at the university that issued the invitation. However, an international student may later transfer to another university subject to certain conditions. All international students must obtain medical insurance for the period of study.

Can international students work while studying?

International students may work in their free time outside of study. If a student discontinues their studies, the right to work is also lost, and the student must leave the Russian Federation within three days.

How can I get a scholarship to study at TSPU?

International students may apply for study in Russia under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation. To do this, you need to register at https://education-in-russia.com/. When submitting your application, please select TSPU as your chosen university.

Is study at the preparatory department available?

Yes, study at the preparatory department lasts 9 months and costs 120,000 rubles. After completion, students may apply for regular degree programs or for study under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation. Individual study options are also available depending on the student’s level of language proficiency.

Can I take part in a seasonal school?

Yes, Seasonal Schools in Russian language and culture are held every year. They include intensive Russian language study and знакомства with traditions through seminars, workshops, theatre training sessions, and tastings of Russian cuisine.

Can international students participate in academic exchange programs?

Yes, if the requirements for participants in an academic exchange program do not include Russian citizenship.
