Do I need official recognition of my foreign educational credential in order to apply to a Russian university?

Up-to-date information on requirements for foreign educational documents when applying to Russian universities is available at http://nic.gov.ru/. Please note that for admission to a full degree program, a certificate of recognition of foreign education (where required) must be submitted together with your application documents. For admission to the preparatory program and Russian language courses, a prior education document is not required.

Can I enroll at TSPU with a student visa issued for another university?

International students may enroll only at the university that issued their invitation. However, transfer to another university may be possible at a later stage, subject to the applicable regulations and requirements. All international students must obtain medical insurance for the period of study.

May international students work while studying?

International students may work during their free time outside their studies, in accordance with Russian law. If a student discontinues their studies, the right to work is also lost, and the student must leave the Russian Federation within three days.

How can I obtain a scholarship to study at TSPU?

International applicants may apply for study in Russia under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation. To do so, please register at https://education-in-russia.com/. When submitting your application, please select TSPU as your chosen university.

Is a preparatory Russian language program available?

Yes. The preparatory program lasts 9 months and costs 120,000 rubles. After completion, students may apply for regular degree programs or for study under the quota of the Government of the Russian Federation. Individual instruction may also be arranged according to the student’s level of Russian proficiency.

Can I take part in a seasonal school?

Yes. TSPU organizes annual seasonal schools in Russian language and culture. These include intensive Russian language instruction together with seminars, workshops, theatre training sessions, and Russian cuisine tasting events.

Can international students participate in academic exchange programs?

Yes, provided that the requirements of the specific academic exchange program do not include Russian citizenship as a condition of participation.
