TSPU's Education Center in Rwanda wraps up its first academic season
Ninety-one students received certificates for completing a Russian-language course at the Center for Open Education in Kigali, Rwanda. Study in Tomsk! project at TSPU
The career-guidance project “Study in Tomsk!” is held annually to attract talents needed for the region’s economy. In October and November 2025, delegations from Tomsk visited districts across the Tomsk Region to introduce high school students to academic programs and help them choose an optimal path for professional development.3 December 2025
Students in Rwanda Explore Russian Traditions
In 2025, Tomsk State Pedagogical University opened its second Center for Open Education in Russian Language and Culture — this time in the Republic of Rwanda. The new center in Kigali, like the one in Kenya, operates under the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Cooperation. Teachers from the Institute developed an educational program for Rwandan students that included Russian language classes and creative workshops introducing aspects of Russian culture and traditions.

TSPU Rector is Laureate of National «Rector of the Year» Award
On 18–20 November, Moscow hosted the 8th Professorial Forum «Science and Education: Development Strategies», which brought together more than 1500 representatives of the academic community, universities, and the business sector. During the plenary session, the Russian Professors’ Assembly held an awards ceremony honoring the laureates of its national awards in the categories «Professor of the Year», «Dean of the Year», and «Rector of the Year». Aleksey Makarenko, Rector of Tomsk State Pedagogical University, received the «Rector of the Year» award in the «Pedagogical Universities» category.

Science 0+: at TSPU, Week of Discovery and Inspiration
From October 27 to November 1, Tomsk State Pedagogical University hosted a series of events as part of the nationwide «Science 0+» Festival — Russia’s largest popular science project. Over the course of the week, hundreds of visitors of all ages joined lectures, workshops, experiments, and interactive sessions, both on campus and online.11 November 2025
Tomsk State Pedagogical University (TSPU), with the support of the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation and the My History Foundation, has opened its second Center for Open Education and Russian Language Learning in Africa — in Kigali, the capital of the Republic of Rwanda. The new center has become part of the structure of TSPU’s Institute of Foreign Languages and International Cooperation (IFLIC).

Dulzon Readings: Anniversary of the Researcher of Siberian Indigenous Languages and Cultures
The Tomsk State Pedagogical University has concluded the 31st International Scientific Conference «Dulzon Readings», dedicated to the 125th anniversary of Dr. Andrey Petrovich Dulzon — a distinguished linguist, ethnographer, archaeologist, and researcher of the languages and cultures of Siberia’s Indigenous peoples.
