Russian Language Preparatory Course

The Russian Preparatory Course (two semesters) is aimed at learning Russian for further enrollment as a full-time student at TSPU.

The tuition fee for two semesters is around 35 000 roubles (subject to change).

The course starts on September 1^st.

Accommodation: usually students live in students halls of residence in double rooms or rooms for 3 people. Shower facilities are shared with all students on the floor. In the academic year 2010/2011 places for students of the Russian preparatory course are limited. Students are encouraged to look for private accommodation. Private accommodation starts from 8000 roubles a month.

Living expenses (food and city transportation) are about 5000 roubles a month.

Medical Insurance: medical insurance is obligatory for everyone and costs around 300  roubles a month (subject to change).

Visa and visa fees: Russian visa fees depend on your citizenship. Please contact the nearest Russian diplomatic mission for further information. Once you get your visa to study at TSPU, which is usually valid for 3 month and one entry, you should maintain your student status. After 3 months of your stay the visa will be extended for one year for multiple entries. Beginning 29th January 2010 the fee for visa extension is 1000 roubles. Further visas are extended every year. Russian student visas are valid for the inviting university. Should you decide to change the university, you have to leave the Russian Federation to apply for a new visa.

Employment: employment is not allowed unless it is “on campus” part-time job, e.g. laboratory assistant.

Application procedure:

1. print out and fill out the application form , scan it preferably as a PDF file and email it back.  The original should be brought in person for enrollment.
2. attach a scanned copy (in colour) of your certificate of secondary education. If the certificate is not in Russian or English a translation should be attached.
3. fill out the application for the official invitation and send it back to us along with well-readable scanned page of the passport (identification page and amendments or extension pages, if applicable)
4. your CV (curriculum vitae or resume). Here is an example
5. some nationals are requested to pay the full one-year tuition fee prior arrival in the Russian Federation. No invitation will be issued until the full payment has been received. In the event of such payment, applicants are required to fill in additional agreements: in English and/or Russian. They should be scanned and emailed back. The originals should be brought in person for enrollment.

Application deadline: 10^th June

IMPORTANT: All scanned copies should be in colour, good quality and preferably as a PDF. file (jpg. files are also acceptable but not preferable) in order to be processed. Incomplete applications will be disregarded.

Presentaion of false or forged documents and information at any stage of application or study will result in immediate exclusion from the programme. No paid or prepaid tuition or/and administrative fees are returned. This usually results in permanent deportation.

Please be advised that international applicants with a good command of Russian who would like to be enrolled as full time students for a degree programme should also bring a certificate of secondary education recognition issued by the Russian Ministry of Education. Students without this certificate should bring their national certificates of education (with attachment) which is legalized in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of your country and in the Russian Diplomatic Mission in your country and also two copies of the certified translation into Russian of the certificate of secondary education (with attachment). Please note that all stamps and seals should be also translated. The fee for the certificate of recognition is approximately 3000 roubles (subject to change)

The same rules also apply Russian preparatory course graduates in the event they will study further as full-time students for a degree programme.

In 2008-2009 we studied in the city of Tomsk, at TSPU. We came to Tomsk from Mongolia to study the Russian language. Tomsk is a student city. This city is s Siberian scientific center. We thought so, that’s why we chose this city. We chose TSPU because at this university you could acquire a profession of the Russian language teacher.

Tomsk is a beautiful city, calm, green and white. Tomsk winter surprised us very much. We have never seen so much snow before. In the street the depth of snow is as a half of me. In this city there are a lot of beautiful buildings. Tomsk State Pedagogical University is also beautiful and we liked it very much. We are thankful to our teachers – Ludmila Anatoljevna and Nadezhda Nikolaevna, who taught us the Russian language.

My name is Munkh-Od. My Russian name is Artem. I am 18 years old. I came to Tomsk to study. Before I lived in Mongolia and now I live in Tomsk dormitory. It is very gaily here. I study at the preparatory courses, study the Russian language and psychology. In free time I visit library. There I read books and work on computer. I like Tomsk very much because there are a lot of universities here. Also I like Lagerny Sad (Garden), Quay etc. I have a lot of friends in Tomsk. They always help me. My name is Byambanaran. I am 18 years old. I came from Mongolia to Tomsk in October, 2008. After graduating school I chose Tomsk to study at University. During 2008-2009 academic year I studied at Pedagogical University, at the preparatory courses where I studied the Russian language. Additionally I studied together with the students of TSPU at International laboratory of cognitive-adaptive technologies of psychology of education. These lessons helped me to get acquainted with Russian students better, to understand peculiarities of life in another country. It was very interesting. I presented my papers at the conferences with my new friends - Russian and foreign students. I told them about culture of Mongolia. Now I have a lot of Russian friends, they are very clever and always help me. I wan to continue my study at Tomsk State Pedagogical University.

My name is Khash Erdene. I am 17 years old. I always liked the Russian language and when I knew that I could go to Russia to study the Russian language I was very glad. And now I study at Tomsk State Pedagogical University, at the preparatory courses. Life in Russia is very interesting for me. Tomsk is a student city. Especially life at the dormitory is gaily and interesting. I got acquainted with a lot of Russian students. My Russian friends always help me, we permanently communicate Russian. Now my language becomes much better. Also I studied at the student laboratory of cognitive-adaptive technologies of psychology of education. It helped me to get used quickly and to participate together with Russian students in scientific life. I presented my papers twice and worried very much but everything was great. I am E. Tuvshin-Erdene. I am 19 years old. I came from Mongolia to study. I live in Tomsk already for 8 months. I like Tomsk very much. It is very cozy and hospitable city. I like to walk round the city, look at the monuments, beautiful buildings, visit museums. I saw a lot of monuments and got acquainted with culture of Tomsk. In Tomsk there are a lot of interesting places: Lagerny Sad (Garden), Quay, Novosobornaya Square and University Roscha (Grove). Also I liked Drama Theatre. It was very beautiful there. I have a lot of friends in Tomsk. Also I spend much time together with Russian students at student laboratory. It is interesting there. When I come home I will tell everybody about Tomsk, Tomsk State Pedagogical University, laboratory, conferences and holidays, which were organized at TSPU, teachers who studied us the Russian language and helped us to adapt to new life psychologically.

The Institute of Applied Computer Science (IACS) was established by the decision of the Academic Council in 2001 to coordinate the activities of pedagogical university in information and telecommunication technologies. IACS activity is important as oversees all computer and information infrastructure of the university, technical and policy support for its administrative, educational and research institutions. IACS takes an active part in various grants and projects of regional and federal levels. The IACS staff offers educational, research and teaching activities.

 

The main tasks of the institute:

• coordination and guidance of research work on the creation, implementation and use of modern IT in training at the university;
• creation of new software and educational tools, techniques and technologies;
• coordination and guidance for the creation, implementation and use of modern IT in the educational process of the university;
• development and support of computer training programs, including electronic textbooks, exercise equipment, laboratory workshops, knowledge testing systems, learning systems based on multimedia technologies;
• business consultation and equipment for students working on the implementation of research projects as well as for graduate students, job seekers, young scientists, university staff.

The main activities of the institute:

• development of electronic teaching and methodical manuals using innovative cross-platform technology.
• development of technical support system of correspondence and distant learning.

• study of global optimization methods in the formation of educational routes of students.

The Institute of Applied Computer Science incorporates the following departments:

• Laboratory of automation and computerization of management dealing with issues of automation and computerization of various departments and processes at the university.
• Laboratory of network projects. The laboratory’s activities are directed at the creation of electronic teaching materials and automation of training.
• Student Research Laboratory of Information Technologies. The main purpose of the laboratory is active involvement of university students in projects implemented at both the laboratory and university.
• Administration unit. It performs various types of administrative functions associated with the activities of the Institute of Applied Computer Science.

The objectives of the faculty

The faculty carries out educational activities on subjects of common cycle of the humanities, social, economic and scientific disciplines for all teaching and non-teaching areas of all teaching and non-teaching areas of education, which is being provided by Tomsk State Pedagogical University. The need for training in scientific disciplines is determined not only by their requirements in the federal standards, but also by a number of other reasons.

Firstly, the role of science in modern society has changed significantly in recent decades. From the in-crowd sphere of interests science has become a powerful driving force of modern civilization. Secondly, virtually all spheres of social life undergo the influence of scientific achievements and depend on the effectiveness of high technology, the main product of modern science.

Ability of modern human society to obtain existing knowledge and technology within the professional pedagogical activity and beyond it, as well as the formation of skills allowing to participate in the processes of creation of new technological solutions, requires a broad outlook and great erudition, which are formed by learning a complex of the common humanities, social, economic and scientific disciplines.

The Pedagogical Faculty is one of the most important in the University, since the graduates of our faculty are specialists who help children in their development and socialization. We prepare speech therapists, teacher of oligophrenic children and speech pathologists, social teachers and specialists in social and pedagogical work with children with deviant behavior, teachers of additional education and heads of children's organizations. The Pedagogical faculty, formed in 1976, today implements 11 educational programs of bachelor's degree, specialist's degree, master's degree. The educational process at the faculty is provided by two graduating departments: the Department of Social Pedagogy and the Department of Speech pathology.

Great attention is drawn to the study of pedagogy and psychology, which helps not only to understand how to help children in their development, how to help young people to avoid misunderstandings in making vital decisions, how to correctly identify and build scenarios for successful life, but first of all helps to learn to understand yourself and other people.

The slogan of the Pedagogical Faculty "Childhood trusts us" emphasizes the seriousness of professional training of specialists in our faculty.

Each year our students participate in conferences, student competitions, forums and meetings. Since 2006 the faculty has been implementing the municipal target program "City summer" to organize leisure time for city children during summer vacation time.

At the Faculty, postgraduate programs are realized at the Department of Social Pedagogy. Today the Faculty of Economics and Management is:

1. Highly qualified pedagogical staff, 80% of which has academic degrees of doctors and candidates of science. The Business Incubator of Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship of the TSPU (BI TSPU) was founded in 2013 as a structural subdivision of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University, part of the Faculty of Economics and Management.

The business incubator is engaged in the development and implementation of a training program on social entrepreneurship and conducts educational activities in various formats. In the process of learning, students will leant how to:

Past and present of the faculty

The Faculty was founded in 1995 and it is now one of the most popular Faculties on the market. Today, the Faculty of Psychology is a part of the Institute of Psychology and Pedagogy, which makes it possible to effectively use potential of two other faculties in educational activity: the Pedagogical Faculty and the Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education.

The main features of the Faculty are:

Student life at the Faculty begins with an old tradition - initiation of the first-year students. Students of the Faculty of Psychology are actively involved in the sports life of the university and regularly get individual and team achievements in sport and patriotic games like «Startus», «Confrontation», «Assault», etc.

We especially proud of the events organized by the Faculty within the framework of the annual celebration of Victory Day: a contest of war years pictures, a contest of poems and songs about the war, literary and musical compositions with the invitation of veterans of the Great Patriotic War.

Great attention is paid to the research work of students. Under the guidance of scientific leaders students study the mental health of teachers and pupils, features of socio-psychological rehabilitation of disabled persons and persons with special place of residence, the specifics of multicultural education, etc. Interested students are actively involved in the work of the psychological club, where, along with experienced scientists they discuss topical issues of psychology.

In recent years, one of the priorities of the Faculty of Psychology has been establishing international contacts with foreign partners. Within the framework of academic mobility program, students have an opportunity to study and take internships in universities of the far and near abroad. At the same time, students from Indonesia, Mali, Congo, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan also use their opportunity to study at our Faculty.

PEDAGOGICAL EDUCATION: LIFE SAFETY COURSE

The level of education is corresponding to federal state educational standard of higher education which demands simultaneous mastering of the two training courses of main educational programs during the 5-year study term.

Required study of modern technologies, including educational ones, within the disciplines: "Information technologies in education", "Technologies of food processing", "Technologies of mechanical processing of materials", "Technologies of sewing production", etc. allows graduates of the faculty to work not only as school teachers, but also as technologists and managers in the sphere of public catering, sewing and woodworking production. At the same time, the curriculum has a variable (profile) part, that gives students an opportunity not only to choose they activities, but also to expand and (or) deepen knowledge, skills and competences in basic (mandatory) disciplines.

By mastering the "Safety of life" course students get knowledge about different measures that are taken to protect the population and economy of the country from the consequences of accidents, disasters, natural disasters, enemy weapons. In the process of training, students study the disciplines about comfortable and safe human interaction with the technosphere, adopted and current regulated principles and methods of protecting the population, methods for reducing the risk of an emergency caused by the human fault.

During the lessons students develop educational and practical models and methods for organizing and eliminating emergency situations, organize and directly participate in the implementation of medical evacuation measures, sanitation and anti-epidemic measures, as well as in the provision of medical and sanitary requirements for emergency rescue and other urgent work in a zone of emergency situation.

After graduation bachelor has a right to work as a teacher of life safety at school, college as well as become an individual manufacturer of clothes, furniture and applied arts or to organize technological work of small business. Educational internship is carried out on the basis of specialized educational institutions, structures of Ministry of Emergency Situations and Ministry of Internal Affairs.

In 2010  was signed the agreement on strategic partnership in the field of preparation of students with the Department for Construction, Housing, Road Complex, Civil Defense and Emergency Situations under the Administration of the Tomsk Region, which expands the possibilities for practical training of students.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION: ARTS AND CRAFTS AND DESIGN

Students study the psychology of personality, engineering and computer graphics, the history of arts and crafts and design, drawing, painting, plastic anatomy, computer design, the basics of design, the fundamentals of management and marketing in the field of artistic creativity, general technology, materials science etc.

Graduating student will have an opportunity to teach arts and crafts at colleges, schools and other organizations as well as to works as designers, technologists, constructors, managers at craft enterprise of design, beauty saloons, tailoring shops etc.

Educational internship is conducted on the basis of leading companies of Tomsk and Tomsk region.

Term of study: 4 years (full-time study); 5 years (extramural form of study).

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION: RESTORAUNT BUSINESS

TSPU has been offering a restaurant business course since 2013 and it was the first university in Tomsk qualified for such an educational program. Students study service theory, organization, technology and equipment of restaurant enterprises, standardization and certification of high-quality biologically safe products, functions and principles of enterprise management, pricing strategy, marketing, basic concepts of healthy nutrition opportunities for the industry development, etc.

Graduating students will get an opportunity to fulfill organizational and methodological activities in educational institutions of food industry, as well as to participate in innovative and organizational activities in the restaurant business.

Educational internship and work experience internship are conducted on the basis of professional educational organizations, as well as on the basis of successfully operating public catering enterprises.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION: TRANSPORT

Growing demands and the needs of the population in maintenance of vehicles have caused the high developing rates of service education. In this regard, the training of bachelors in the field of vehicle services and road safety has become one of the prestigious areas of professional training. Graduates of Transport course will be able to teach students at educational institutions that implement educational programs of secondary professional and additional vocational education in the sphere of motor transport industry. Educational internship is organized on the basis of automobile sales centers and units of Department of Motor Vehicles and Traffic Control. Work experience internship is carried out on the basis of specialized educational institutions.

PROFESSIONAL EDUCATION: REGENERATION AND REPRODUCTION OF FOREST RESOURCES

Forest resources are considered as a competitive advantage of Russia, providing it with a strategic advantage in the system of world economic relations. Therefore, the ways of realizations of the existing potential of the region is the central issue in the development of the timber processing complex. Siberia has the world's largest forest resource base, in this regard, the main goal of the regional policy in the timber industry is the implementation of competitive advantages through the preservation of quality, improving of efficiency of natural resources’ use, the depth of processing of forest resources and reducing the negative impact on the environment.

The Faculty of Physical Education and Sports was established in 1949 and is the oldest beyond the Urals among similar faculties. For 70 years the faculty has prepared more than 4 500 specialists in physical culture and sports. Among the graduates of the faculty are outstanding sportsmen and teachers.

The contribution of graduate students to the sports achievements of the country and the Tomsk region is significant. Among graduates of the faculty are the Honored masters of sports, Masters of sports of international level, Masters of sports of the USSR and the Russian Federation.

The Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of TSPU offers a wide range of areas for training of bachelors and masters in the field of teacher education, physical culture and sports. The "Pedagogical education" course allows graduates to work in various educational institutions, the "Physical Culture" course is related to the training of sportsmen, and “Adapted Physical Education" course allows the graduate to work with the category of people who have various health deviations.

A highly professional pedagogical staff is working at the Faculty. Among them are Doctors of Sciences, professors, some of them having titles of "Honored Worker of Physical Culture", 17 candidates of science. Classes on sports disciplines are conducted by teachers who have significant competitive experience, among them are Honored masters of sports, Masters of sports of international class, Masters of sports of the USSR and Russia, world record-holders. For instance the teaching staff of the Swimming Department includes: Master of sports of international class, World Champion in swimming in fins A.Yu. Vyazigin - Ph.D., associate professor of the Swimming Department; Twice Master of Sports of the USSR in underwater sport and officer triathlon. Bezotechestvo - Ph.D., Head of the Swimming Department.

During the study students have to choose a certain kind sport for specialization and throughout the study period they are going to study the theory and methodology of the chosen sport. The Faculty has a student self-government body - a student council, whose field of activity includes organization of public, scientific and cultural work of the students of the faculty. Members of the student council participate in the organization of holidays ("Dedication to students", "Olympic Ball", "Startus", etc.), scientific and practical conferences, sports competitions and festivals. Students publish their own student newspaper called "Sports chronicle".
