Russian Science Citation Index has updated indicators of universities. Data of April 17, 2014: Hirsch Index of TSPU reached 61^st position.
(11-12^th position is shared with the First Moscow Medical University). g- TSPU citation index reached 106 position ( 9-10^th position is shared with Novosibirsk State University). The total amount of TSPU citations increased to 17,359 (29th place among all universities)

10-12 April 2014 Tomsk State Pedagogical University participated in the 15^th Kazakhstan International Exhibition “Education and Career” (Almaty, Kazakhstan).

The faculty of technology and entrepreneurship has been hosting the Museum of Decorative Arts of the Peoples of Siberia for several years.

The exposition is original; it accumulates the creative energy of several generations of graduates of technology and business. Basically the exhibits are graduate works of the students who studied artistic processing of materials, design and fashion design. The exhibition presents works extensively in the technique of wood carving, processing bark, burning, art dolls in a stylized folk costumes.

The Museum of Russian House in Siberiawas opened on October 3^rd, 2005 during a stay of the delegation of the Council of Europe in Tomsk. The museum possesses over 300 exhibits. The artistic design of the exhibits in the Russian Siberian house was done by known artists N.N. Korobeynikov and T.S. Korobeinikova. The students of the Faculty of Economics and Management TSPU fulfilled the installation of the museum. The museum hosts general and thematic excursions, as well as national holidays: Christmas, Pan Cake Festival, Easter, etc.

Important for the aesthetic education of young people has the first and only university Art Gallery in Tomsk, which was opened on March 11^th, 2004 in building number 8 in Kashtak. The Art Gallery operates in the exhibition hall (approximately seven to nine exhibitions a year). 

Alexander Melentevich Volkov (1891-1977) is an outstanding Soviet children’s writer, a graduate of the Tomsk Teachers Institute, a teacher with 47 years of experience.

He wrote 19 children’s books, the total circulation of his works is more than 50 million copies,  which have been translated and published in 32 languages of the world.

The Museum of  History of TSPU was founded on June 4^th , 1982. The new exhibition of the museum was opened on November 6^th , 2002. The museum is an educational, scientific, cultural and educational unit of the university and public repository of historical, natural history, material and spiritual culture. The basis of the museum exposition and educational activities is the main fund of the museum collected by T.V. Galkina, containing more than two thousand items.

The exposition of the museum has the following sections :

- Tomsk Teacher Training Institute - the beginning of higher pedagogical education in Tomsk (1902-1920);
- Tomsk State Pedagogical University - successor of Tomsk Teacher Training Institute;
- Stalin’s terror - the basis of totalitarianism;
- Collective contribution of Tomsk State Pedagogical Institute to defense of the Motherland during the Great Patriotic War: the front and rear;
- The role of the humanities and the natural sciences in shaping the future of the creative personality of the teacher .

The museum hosts generaland thematic excursions, it hosts Professors Club,  Guides Club and the Club “Persona Grata”.

The anatomical museum, with lots of training tables, molds, anatomical specimens, and microscopic techniques micropreparations kit was created in 1970-1975 on the basis of anatomy and physiology of human and animal biological department of TSPU. The organizers and founders of the museum are  assistant professor Gurchenok Alevtina Pavlovna and head of the department Chernova Velta Alexandrovna.

The museum of information technology at the Institute of Applied Informatics was established on the basis of the exhibits “History of Information Technology”, held during the celebration of the 100th anniversary of Tomsk State Pedagogical University (4-6^th  November 2002 ) .

The exhibition can be divided into two parts: the actual section of information technology based on computer hardware and the section of technical training aids used during the lifetime of the pedagogical university.
