The first linguo-festival organized by specialists of the faculty of foreign languages took place at the scientific library of TSPU.

Essentially it was a contest between foreign students that don’t speak Russian as native language. Among those ones willing to participate in the event were not only TSPU students but also guys from Tomsk State University, Tomsk Polytechnic University and Siberian State Medical University. 

All the participants have to prepare two numbers – a song and a poem in Russian and in their native language. In the final stage of the contest six songs and eleven poems were chosen to be performed during the gala concert. The numbers were rated by the professional jury consisted of the professors and specialists of the faculty of foreign languages.

The first place among the students studying Russian for less than three years was taken by Wang Zihan, who read A. Zhukovsky's poem "The Skylark", the second - Yu Zixuan with M. Lermontov's poem "I want to live!". The third place was shared by Zhang Sibo (A. Pushkin "I loved you") and Liu Shuang (M. Tsvetaeva "I would like to live with you"). Liu Shuang also received a special prize from the student jury. All students of the first category are representatives of China.

The students of the Wroclaw University (Poland), who study at the TSPU within the framework of the academic exchange, Dominika Musial and Katarzyna Golambiowska took the first and second places among the students studying the Russian language for more than three years. They have presented poems by A. Akhmatova's "Bury, bury me, the wind" and I. Brodsky's "Debut."

A special prize was awarded to TPU student from Indonesia, Devi Eirene Pridari Sisya, for the soulful performance of AIr Mata's "Tears" in her native language, and Alicia Dyrda (Poland) for her solo performance of the song "Winter Dream" from Alsou's repertoire and Polish song Biegnij przed siebie.

The collective performance of the songs was evaluated as follows: the first place was taken by female students from Poland for the song "I am a soldier", the second place took the students from Indonesia for the song "The Cuckoo" by V. Tsoi, the third place took students from China with the song "Oh, frost, frost".

In the lobby of the library, the staff of the Scientific Library of the TSPU prepared an interesting exposition, presenting Russian costumes and poetry, including rare items from the fund of the National Library of the TSPU.

Students of the faculty of Economics and management together with the teacher of department of economical theory K. A. Santotskaia have visited the Inter-regional forum for raising of financial literacy level among students and youth, that was conducted at Novosibirsk state pedagogical university. 

The main goal of the event was to attract attention to the topic of financial literacy, as well as the formation of active economic behavior, raising the relevance of financial decisions, organizing a financial education system and preventing of scams. Among the participants were students from Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Krasnoyarsk, Gorno-Altaisk, Biysk, Barnaul.

Topical issues of modern youth were takes into account while preparing the program of the forum: how can one gain knowledge in economics  without making financial mistakes, how to develop one’s own business project, where to find money for the implementation of student initiatives.

The result of this forum was the integration of active students

As the result students had united to develop and implement projects that will help to increase the financial literacy of the population.

On November 30 the contest "City and University" was held. It was aimed at identifying and supporting the authors of student projects dedicated to solving urgent problems of the development of university cities. The resident of the Business Incubator of the TSPU Vladislav Malakhov became the winner of the contest.

The contest consisted of two stages: duting the first stage, 48 works from 13 universities of Russia were submitted and reviewd, and second stage included life presentation of works in three directions, such as, "The potential of my university for the development of the city", "How to improve my campus" , "University and city is my choice".  In the "University and city - my choice" nomination won one of the projects of the Business Incubator of Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship of the TSPU called "Student City".

"Student Сity" is an informational interactive Internet project that represents a centralized database containing basic information about Tomsk, each Tomsk higher education institution , as well as students' opinions for attracting young people from other countries to study in Tomsk.

The author and manager of the project is Malakhov Vladislav, a third-year student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the TSPU, who worked on the project together with his team, as well as the head of the Business Incubator of TSPU Naumova Lyudmila Vladimirovna for two years. The technical consultant of the project is the head of the chair of informatics of TSPU, the candidate of technical sciences Stas Andrey Nikolaevich.

XI competition of professional skill and creativity "Pedagogical debut" had finished at the Tomsk State Pedagogical University in a solemn atmosphere.

For three weeks ten student teams of the university competed with each other in a series of professional pedagogical tests. Participants were given the opportunity to demonstrate thie level of knowledge; present their approach to the organization and conduction of the training sessiosn and career-oriented workshops; to present the creative performance of the team.

Participants of the "Pedagogical Debut" were assessed not only by professional experts in the field of education and upbringing, but also by the schoolchildren.

Closing ceremony was held on the first day of winter. Teams of faculties presented themselves as creative business cards, in which they revealed all the features of their future profession. Despite the dynamically changing team rating, the awards finally have found their winners. In the nomination "Fundamentals of subject knowledge", the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics, the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​and the Faculty of History and Philology took the leading places. The first place in the nomination "Leader's piggy bank" was won by students of the Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education (FPPE). Prize places were given to the Faculty of Foreign Languages (FFL) ​​and Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports. The best team in the nomination "Training session" became the team of the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics. The second and third places were given to FFL ​​and FPPE.

Based on the results of all the tests, including the final creative performance, the jury members had marked the highest level of professional training of TSPU students! The team of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​was recognized as the winner of the XI competition of professional skill and creativity "Pedagogical debut". Honorary prizes and titles of the laureates of the competition were won by the teams of the Faculty of Preschool and Primary Education and the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports.

According to the tradition, the winners of the pedagogical test will go on an excursion and educational trip to the northern capital of our country - St. Petersburg . And the organizers of the "Pedagogical Debut", which, according to the jury's remark, became not only a contest of the TSPU, but also a competition for the entire pedagogical community, will begin preparations for the next year competition.

Students and employees of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University held a teleconference with colleagues from the Federal Institute of Joués de Fora (Brazil). For many years, the two universities have maintained successful cooperation, especially regarding the programs of student academic exchanges.

Students from Brazil were interested in the possibilities of entering the master program of the TSPU, designed for foreign students. A special attention was drawn to the faculty of physics and mathematic (FPM) : students asked about the activities of FPM, extracurricular work of students and further plans for new areas of training at the faculty. All questions were answered in detail by the dean Elena Piagnykh and students.

Of course, the student's life was also discussed: colleagues asked about the student self-government and about program of extracurricular activities taking place at the university, as well as in the city. The student of the physics and mathematics faculty of Enkhike Airez de Oliveira from Brazil, who came to Tomsk within the framework of the exchange, had told about his student life  and  shared his impressions about Tomsk.

During the conference, representatives of universities shared information about the organization of research work of students, student campaigns and projects (business incubator and the Enaktus team, educational robotics, competition of football robots in Brazil and others), discussed the possibilities of academic exchanges of students and internships for teachers, as well as other programs.

Tomsk State Pedagogical University will take part in the II International Forum of University Cities "Energy of the University for the Development of the City and the Region", which will be held in Tomsk from November 30 to December 2. The main goals of 2017 is to increase the influence of the university in the development of the digital economy and the social sector of the regions, the partnership between government, business sector and universites aimed to respond the social, urban and economic challenges.

TSPU will organize a discussion platform "Students' Self-Realization in Polyethnic Cultural Space: Needs, Dreams, Goals", at which participants will consider current issues of self-actualization of Russian and foreign students in polyethnic culture as one of the mechanisms for optimizing the processes of scientific and educational internationalization and strengthening the image of higher education institutions .

The following guests will be invited: Viktor Richter, Consul General of Germany in Novosibirsk; Karin Herzler, Administrative Director of the ESPE (higher school of teachers and professors) at the University of Grenoble, France; Theo Tunen, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Management, Behavioral and Social Sciences, University of Twente, The Netherlands; Michael Seifart, lecturer of the DAAD program, Germany and others.

Out of 9000 universities located in China, India, Brazil, Russia and South Africa, the top 300 universities were included in the rating. Tomsk State Pedagogical University took the 154th place, while keeping the first place among the pedagogical universities of Russia. At the same time, according to two of the eight indicators, TSPU entered the top ten of the strongest BRICS universities.

During the two days schoolchildren from 12 educational organizations have been participating in com[petitions within the framework of the Regional Olympiad of schoolchildren in pedagogy. The kids from Tomsk, Seversk, Kozhevnikovsky, Kolpashevsky, Krivosheinsky, Shegarsky and Bakcharsky districts met in TSPU

Based on the results of the two-day work, the winners were determined and awarded in various nominations, both in the team and in the individual competition. As a gift for their efforts, the winners received diplomas, memorabilia and gift certificates. And from the partner of the Olympiad - the Union of Children's Organizations "Miracle" - six participants, who showed the best results in most tests, got invitations to the All-Russian Children's Center "Ocean".

Only those TSPU students who are non-native Russian speakers and have been studing Russian language at least for 3 years can become the participants of the competition. Both team or solo numbers are allowed.

Attention! All contestants should present two creative numbers:
1) in Russian;
2) in their native language (or a number reflecting their folk culture).
Duration of each number: no longer than 4 minutes.
