«POISK» scientific newspaper has publsihed an article about the Tomsk State Pedagogical University called «It is all starts here». The history of the university,  information about up-to-date achivements and prospects, interview with the employees and leaders of student organizations – all this and more in the new issue of «Poisk» newspaper.

When designing the Teachers' Institute at the beginning of the 20th century, Fortunat Gut, the chief architect of the West Siberian Academic District, tried to combine beauty and practicality in his creation. The fascinating lines of the late modernist style and engineering approach made the building reliable and comdortable for living and to studying. In the pre-war years, the building of the first hostel was built, and in the second half of the last century the pedagogical institute received a new four-story educational building, which for many years had been the main building of the university. In the 90s there the fifth academic building was built along with two multystoried student hostels. Due to the increase of personnel requirements, two educational buildings were handed over to the university, unfortunately, they deperetly needed reconstruction. By 2000, the material base of the university was considerably dilapidated - three buildings of the TSPU were closed for major repairs. Two faculties became «homeless», the ever lasting shortage of training areas put the TSPU on the brink of closure. The story of how much effort did it take to restore and develop the facilities deserves record. At present, the university has nine academic buildings, four of which are new, a large scientific library and business incubator, a suburban training facilities base, a museum complex, three student hostels, a sports and recreational complex, the Poseidon pool, and a stadium. Thanks to the successful management of the university economy, the list of educational programs has expanded. Now the university carries out a multilevel (bachelor's, master's, specialist, postgraduate) professional training in 14 fields of specialties and directions. The scientific and educational process is provided by a highly qualified pedagogical staff. About 90% of the TSPU employees have academic degrees and titles. It is noteworthy that recently, next to the old building of the TSPU, a nice square and a monument of the work of Oleg of Kiev "My First Teacher" have appeared. The monument depits the desk, the boy behind it, the formulas on the blackboard and the young woman explaining their meaning. The sculpture was opened on Teacher's Day, in the Year of the Teacher. The monument, the Teacher's Square as well as the historic building of the Teachers' Institute, which was restored in 2008 - now the main building of the TSPU – are truly treasures of Tomsk.

In 2017, the Department of Languages ​​of the Peoples of Siberia of the Faculty of Foreign Languages ​​of the TSPU completed work on the project of the Russian Foundation for Basic Research "Typology of the relation category based on the Ob-Yenisei language" (supervised by A. Yu. Filchenko). The results of the research were published in authoritative journals on linguistics in Russia and abroad, and also presented at conferences of regional, Russian and international levels.

Studies on the new project will be carried out during three years, the analysis of the information structure of a simple sentence in this project assumes the presentation of a typological picture of the whole language area located in the Ob and Yenisei river basins based on the basic word order and the reasons for its violation in the different, genetically unrelated and distantly related languages ​​of the project (Yenisey, Finno-Ugric, Turkic).

The Ministry of Sport of the Russian Federation has awarded the student of Tomsk State Pedagogical University Valeriya Anisimova with  a sporting title "Master of Sport of Russia of International Class" in sambo.

Such a great achivement was brought by Valeriya's victories in the last autumn at the World Junior Championships in Serbia and the European Cup among women in Spain. Valeriya had developed her skills by training at the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports at the TSPU as well as at the children's and youth sports school "Rus".

Tomsk State Pedagogical University and Tyumen State University continue to work within the framework of the agreement on cooperation in the field of development of inclusive education.

The main goal of the cooperation is the creation of special conditions that ensure accessibility and high quality of higher education for people with disabilities, as well as creating conditions for their socio-cultural rehabilitation and employment (in accordance with the state program "Affordable Environment").

TSPU and Tyumen State University will continue to develop the Resource Training and Methodological Center for the Education of People with Disabilities and achieve completely new results of inclusive educational activities in 2018.

On 22th of December  students and employees of the Tomsk state pedagogical university for the fifth time have organized «Space lesson» that took place in Korolev city in «Energy» museum.

Using an online broadcast provided by the State TV and Radio Company "Tomsk", kids from the Tomsk region as well as from Korolev and pupils of the Sirius Educational Center (Sochi) have met at the event. The main topic of the lesson was "Electromagnetic environment: Space Communication".

Among the experts of the lesson were: Hero of the Soviet Union, Pilot-Cosmonaut No. 57, Flight Director of the ISS Vladimir Solovyov; Soviet and Russian scientist, Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Director of research organization "Kosmonit", Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Grigory Markelovich Chernyavsky; Adviser to the General Director of the Rocket and Space Corporation “Energia”, Honored Designer of the Russian Federation Alexander Chernyavsky. The foreword was made by Governor of the Tomsk Region A.S. Zhvachkin.

As usually, the lesson participants listened to the theoretical part, conducted by the graduate of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the TSPU Rustam Kononenko and the Associate Professor of the TSPU, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Alexei Removich Arzhanik. The theory was supported by demonstration of experiments, after which the kids asked questions to the ISS cosmonauts  Anton Shkaplerov and Alexander Misurkin.

On the eve of the New Year, students of Tomsk State Pedagogical University, teachers of the department of defectology, students of the elementary school for children with hearing impairments, have made a holiday gift for people with disabilities: a fairy tale "Snow Queen" in sign language will be held for pupils of specialized institutions.

The genre of the Sign Language Theater is not only accessible to the viewer with hearing impairment, but also represents a new art form, being a means of rehabilitation and socialization of children with disabilities. The features of such performance is in the scenic expressiveness of the bright language of gestures and facial expressions that replace ordinary speech. Sign performance is also of interest to hearing audiences, as the actors-performers accompany the gestures with the word, enhancing the perception of the plot.

The debut of the sign theatre of students and teachers of the TSPU was held in the autumn and took place in the framework of the First Sign Song Festival "Association", organized by the TSPU.

A real New Year gift for children with disabilities is the performance "Snow Queen" in sign language. The show will take place on December 25 at 15.30 in the Boarding School for Children with Hearing Impairmen", located at: Dzerzhinsky Street, 19.

And on December 27 at 11.00 this performance will be seen by the children of the Tungus orphanage.

Children and adults are awaiting for a vivid performance and a magical fairytale atmosphere of the holiday!

Governor of the Tomsk region have met with the students of Tomsk universities – holders of the governor scholarships – and awarded them with the medals «The future of the Tomsk region». Student of the faculty of economics and management of the TSPU  Ngatsongo Oba Belsa Eduard from Kongo has received a personal reward. Matiukhina Mariia Viktorovna, second year postgraduate student of the faculty of foreign languages of the TSPU has been awarded with the sign «The future of the Tomsk region».

"You really are the future of our region, the region that is based on the development of science and higher education", - said Sergey Zhvachkin.

The new honorary sign depicts a nutcracker holding a nut in his beak. 26 students, studying in the humanities, science, physics, mathematics and engineering fields, including four foreigners (from Vietnam, India and Congo) became the owners of this reward along with the governor's scholarships.

The team of the Faculty of Psychological, Pedagogical and Special Education of the TSPU under the direction of Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of Defectology Department Galina Petrovna Obnosova won the regional stage of the All-Russian Students' Competition in Special Pedagogy and Psychology "Psychological and pedagogical support of children with health limitations and their families". Professional competition was held in Novosibirsk. The honor of the university was defended by students of 653 groups Davletova Mariam, Proskuryakova Oksana and Korchemkina Ekaterina.

In addition to the first degree diploma for the victory, as well as the third-degree diploma for successful participation in the project competition, the team also had brought to Tomsk a diploma for an excellent knowledge of the psychological and pedagogical aspects of accompanying children with health limitations and a diploma for the most original self-presentation. Davletova Mariam was awarded a first-degree diploma for participation in an individual tour and personal diploma as a team leader. Proskuryakova Oksana received a diploma of the second degree for successful participation in the individual tour.

On December 22 from 12.00 to 14.00 at «Izumrudny gorod» shopping center an interactive exhibition «Art Chaos garbage wind» will take place.

The main goal of the program is to form a sense of environmental responsibility among Tomsk citizens and residents of the region through the reasonable restriction in the consumption and even a complete from using items that cause irreparable harm to nature, as well as reasonable attitude to waste processing. Through creative activity (the creation of art), the project organizers seek to change attitudes towards garbage and form a sense of environmental responsibility among schoolchildren.

On Friday, December 22, during the interactive exhibition, the winners will be picked in four competitive nominations: an animated film, an art object from garbage, social and scientific research projects, educational and methodological development on environmental issues.

All the guests can participate in three free workshops by masters from Slavic Museum that will show how to make a New Year's toy. Within the framework of the project, educational and entertainent zones will be available: face art for kids, an exhibition of art objects made of waste materials.

Awarding ceremony of the winners will end with a concert program by dance and vocal groups of Tomsk.

Ecologically significant project «ART-CHAOS. Garbage wind» is held by the TSPU with the support of the Presidential Grants Fund.
