For the fourth time the Tomsk State Pedagogical University held the convention on best experts on A.M. Volkov's "The Wizard of the Emerald City" among primary school students. More than 200 schoolchildren, teachers and parents took part in competitions.
The final stage of the convention took place on the last Sunday in the children's museum "Magic Country" named after. A.M. Volkov. The winner of the fourth final competition was Nizamova Eugenia, student of 3 "A" class of MAOU lyceum No. 8. Vladimir Ponyshev and Fedor Shumilov, who scored the same number of points, competed for the second and third place. To determine the best expert on Volkov's ;iterature a blitz tournament as held. The guys were not inferior to each other therefor the audience and the organizers decided that competitors should share the second place.
For students of the faculty of history and philology this event offered a chance to try themselves in the museum-introductory practice in the framework of the educational course "Museology". For many of them, this was the first teaching experience; the guys worked worthily at the intellectual and creative platforms: “Bouquet for Ally”, “Help Kaggi-Karr”, “Crosswords”, “Rebus”, “Lost words”, “Fairy lotto”, "Reading Lesson", "Poppy Field".
All activists were awarded certificates and sweet prizes, and the winners received certificates and souvenirs from the Tomsk State Pedagogical University.

TGPU STUDENTS PARTICIPATED IN GAIDPARK-TOMSK DISCUSSION SCHOOL
A new direction in modern education - a practice-oriented approach to solving problems through discussion is actively supported by students and teachers of the Economic Theory Department of TSPU (head of the department is V.V. Sizov). The students studying in the “Tourism” programm took part in the three-day discussion school GAIDPARK, dedicated to the interaction of historical memory and urban space, as well as their influence on the construction of citizens' identity on the example of Tomsk. {gallery}/files/news/2018/12/s05b{/gallery}
The GAIDPARK-Tomsk Discussion School included two aspects: theoretical, in which leading scientists from Tomsk universities delivered their lectures, and practical, where for three days the students had the opportunity to gather material for further research, get a general idea about the organizing of discussions in tourism sphere. The key module of the event is awareness of the identity of the Tomsk region for building tourist routes. Students and teachers demonstrated their ability to work in this technology in the field of tourism and economics.

Anniversary of Selkup dictionary at TSPU
A holiday dedicated to the 25 anniversary of the first books in Tomsk, written in Selkup language, took place in the Scientific Library of the TSPU. The event was organized by employees of the Department of Languages of the Peoples of Siberia and the Union of Small Indigenous Peoples of the North of the Tomsk Region.
The event started with the hymn “We are native”, written bySelkup form Narym Vera Petrovna Tuzakova. During the holiday there were Selkup songs performed by soloists of the ensemble “Varӷ Kara” (Parabel) Tatiana Prokina and Irina Korobeinikova together with Grigory Korotkikh. Participants of the “Kybagmyla” band (Kolpashevo) sang a song from Шё̄шӄуй dictionary «Оккырни̇ те̄лт э̄нҗа» (Let there always be the sun). In addition Izhenbina Natalia Platonovna perfomed her song called «Пиледэ̄, маннāни̇ Пиледэ̄» (Ivankino, my Ivankino) . Participants - students and teachers of the TSPU, representatives of the indigenous peoples of the Tomsk region and Tomsk citizens listened and sang songs together with the organizers of the holiday.
The participants of the events happened 25 years ago told about the first years of Selkup education, its culture and revival. Kim Alexandra Arkadyevna, one of the compilers of Selkup textbooks and a long-term leader of the ethno-linguistic circle and Nataly Platonovna, a certified teacher of Selkup language, shared their memories. The guests visited the department of languages of the peoples of Siberia, an exhibition of books on the Selkup language and culture of the Selkup people, prepared by the staff of the Scientific Library of the TSPU. An interesting addiditon to the celebration was the ethnocultural lesson on the Selkup language, which was conducted by Gregory Korotkikh.
Anniversary events dedicated to the first textbooks on the Selkup language in the Tomsk region will be held in Kolpashevo and Parabeli in the second half of December.
Also, we invite everyone to visit the exhibition of books on the Selkup language and culture of the Selkup people, located in the Scientific Library of the TSPU (Herzen Street 66, 3rd floor).

XXIX WINTER UNIVERSIADE 2019 IN KRASNOYARSK
The Universiade is the international sports competitions among students, holding under the aegis of the International University Sports Federation (FISU). The name "Universiade" comes from the words "University" and "Olympics". Student competitions are held every two years, unlike the four-year Olympic events. Students from the age of 17 to 25 years and graduates who have received an academic degree or a diploma in the year preceding the competition are allowed to participate in competitions. The program of the Universiade includes compulsory (the list is approved by FISU prior to the start of the bidding campaign) and optional (additional) sports that the host country determines, provided that they meet all the requirements of the International University Sports Federation. The International University Sports Federation currently approved the following capitals of the Winter Games - Almaty (Kazakhstan) - 2017, Krasnoyarsk (Russia) - 2019. The history of the 29th Winter Universiade-2019 in Krasnoyarsk began in 2012. On January 9, the President of Russia signed an instruction to the Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation on the realization of particular measures to prepare Krasnoyarsk for participation in the bidding campaign. On November 9, 2013 in Brussels, the FISU Executive Committee decided to hold the Winter Universiade 2019 in Krasnoyarsk. The 29th Winter Universiade 2019 will take place in Krasnoyarsk from 2 to 12 March, 2019. Athletes will compete 76 sets of awards in 11 sports: alpine skiing, bandy, biathlon, cross-country skiing, curling, figure skating, freestyle skiing, ice hockey, short track, ski orienteering, snowboarding.

The Winter Universiade 2019 is the third Universiade hosted by Russia.The first one was in Moscow in 1973, the second was in Kazan in 2013. In modern Russian history, the Kazan Universiade set the high standard for large international sports events, which was widely implemented at the Olympic Games in Sochi. The Winter Universiade 2019 makes Krasnoyarsk a unique sports arena where world powers will take part in a frank sports holiday, the core value of which is to overcome national and religious barriers, to unite people and states. In 2019, Russia is planning to hold the warmest games ever.

TSPU PROFESSOR INCLUDED IN THE LIST OF THE MOST CITED SCIENTISTS OF THE WORLD
The main scientific associate of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Doctor of Physical and Mathematical Sciences Sergey Dmitrievich Odintsov once again was included in the list of the most cited scientist of the world according to the Clarivate Analytics. In total more than 4058 scientists from 21 spheres of natural sciences and humanities were included in the new list. Apart from the TSPU professor there were eight more scientist working in Russian institutions included in the list.
REFERENCE:
Clarivate Analytics – the world’s leader in scientometric analysis. It is the fifth time the company has published the annual list of the most influential scientist, based on the quotation index of the Web of Science database. To enter the list a scientist have to be among 1% of the researches that were cited the most in their sphere for the last year.

ALL-RUSSIAN FORUM OF PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITIES AT THE TSPU
The All-Russian Forum of Student Self-Government Organizations of Pedagogical Universities “In Tomsk”, which is annually held by students and staff of Tomsk State Pedagogical University, opened today at the Park-Hotel Energetik. During the three-day event, 120 participants from 17 regions of the country will undergo an intensive program of activities aimed at the in-depth development of six areas of student activity: student councils, student clubs, trade union organizations, volunteer movement, pedagogical groups, student media.

Future teachers from Tomsk, Novosibirsk, Kemerovo, Novokuznetsk, Barnaul, Krasnoyarsk, Omsk, Irkutsk, Yekaterinburg, Astrakhan, Moscow, St. Petersburg, Blagoveshchensk, Ufa, Ulan-Ude, Abakan and the Republic of Tyva are going to participate in two discussions on the general topic “Portrait of a modern teacher (competence, key performance indicators) ". In the first part communication will be organized through the views on the modern teacher by pupils, representatives of the parent committee, young teachers from Russian regions, and in the second, the views will be expressed by school principles/heads of departments from Russian regions, representatives of pedagogical universities from Russian regions, the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of The Russian Federation, the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs. On the final day of the Forum, the teams will present the developed program of directions, the vision of modern models of student self-government for theor universities and will receive an expert opinion

WEB CONFERENCE OF EMPLOYEES OF THE TSPU AND UNIVERSITY OF CHINA
The Tomsk State Pedagogical University held a teleconference with Mudanjiang Pedagogical University (MPU), China. The seminar was held by Professor of the TSPU Orlova, who has been working as a visiting professor at the MPU for three years, teaching Russian to Chinese philology students, and by associate professor of the TSPU Babenko. In the framework of the online meeting, the following reports have been presented: “Specificity of teaching Russian as a foreign language (RFL) to a Chinese audience”, “The main Chinese textbook for teaching RFL "Vostok": pros and cons", "The system of distance support for teaching RFL on the textbook "Vostok": the results of testing in the course of cooperation University. "
The meeting was attended by teachers of the Department of Slavic Philology and Intercultural Communication TSPU, who are working with exchange students from China.

TSPU lecturer at the conference in Minks
Olga Vladislavovna Sanfirova, associate professor of the economic theory department of the faculty of economics and management at the TSPU, spoke at the third International Scientific Conference “Intellectual Culture of Belarus: Methodological Capital of Philosophy and the Outlines of Transdisciplinary Knowledge Synthesis” held in Minsk, Belarus. Sanfirova made a report called “Technology for implementing a transdisciplinary approach in the process of teaching tourist disciplines” and it was discussed by A.A. Lazarevich, director of the National Academy of Sciences of Belarus, Chairman of the State Committee on Science and Technology of the Republic of Belarus S.S. Shcherbakov and other specialists. The lecturer of the TSPU was highly appreciated and invited to further cooperation, and he work was included into an international collection.

TSPU AT THE FESTIVAL OF PROFESSIONAL TEST FOR SCHOOLCHILDREN "PROJECTORY"
Students and employees of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University introduced schoolchildren of the city to the areas of professional activity within the framework of the “PROJECTORY” Festival. The event was attended by more than 7,000 pupils of 6-11 grades of schools from Tomsk, Seversk and districts of the Tomsk region.
Platforms of professional test were organized in eight thematic areas, each of which reflected key areas of development in the country and the Tomsk region and introduced the children to a variety of modern professions and future professions (IT and communications, transport and logistics, new materials, health, energy, space, rural household, smart city).
TSPU presented four professional tests in various areas: health (adaptive physical education) and defectology, smart city (landscape designer, sociologist of the urban environment and the designer of the smart environment. Participation in each area included the solution of case studies and practical tasks for schoolchildren, which made it possible to motivate children to make a conscious choice of profession.
