Employees of Tomsk State Pedagogical University became participants of the XIV interregional festival of the peoples of Siberia "Etudes of the North", which took place on the picturesque territory of the Oskie Lakes, near the village of Parabel. The holiday program included a theatrical concert of creative groups and conductors from all over the Siberia, an open-air museum Chumel Chvech, the contests "Narym fish soup" and "Beauty of the North 2019", national competitions and crafts and folk art fairs.

As usual there were Parabel local history (Selkup) readings “Preservation, development and popularization of the linguistic and cultural heritage of the indigenous population of the Tomsk Region”. The main goal of the anniversary conference was to discuss and find solutions for urgent problems of the saving and development of languages and cultural of Siberian people. Annually, specialists from the laboratories of the peoples of Siberia and the Department of Archeology and Ethnology of TSPU support the initiative associations of the indigenous peoples of Kolpashevsky, Parabelsky, Kargasoksky districts and assist in organizing and conducting such events.

The next year the festival, which gathers more and more guests and participants, students and young professionals from Tomsk Pedagogical, will celebrate its 15th anniversary.

According to the international agency Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), Tomsk entered in the top 10 best cities in the world and took the 4th position in the price-quality ratio of higher education. A high level of education in Tomsk is provided by six remarkable universities, including the leader of pedagogical education in Russia - Tomsk State Pedagogical University.

According to the results of the regional competition “Sports Elite 2019”, Valeria Anisimova, the TSPU student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, the master of sports of Russia of international class in sambo, is included in the top ten of “Best Athlete in Non-Olympic Sports” nomination. Valeria is not only successfully undegoing the educational program of the university, but she is also a student of the Tomsk regional sports school of the Olympic reserve and an instructor of the children and youth sports school "Rus".

For the period from July 1, 2018 to June 30, 2019, the competition committee determined the best athletes, coaches and specialists in the field of sports who achieved high results and made a significant contribution to the development of physical culture and sports in the Tomsk Region in nine categories: “Best Athlete”, “The best sports team”, “The best coach”, “The best sports judge ”, “The best specialist of a sports team”, “For sport service”, “Popularization of sports”, “The best sports event”, “Patron of sports”.

The TSPU student was included in the list of the best, representing not only the university, but also the Tomsk regional branch of the Public Fund "All-Russian Sambo Federation".

In July activists of the Indigenous small-numbered peoples of the Siberia "Mi tare" and university staff hosted a creative evening for Vera Petrovna Tuzakova, a honourable winner of international competitions, a selkup, a native of the Parabel district in the Tomsk State Pedagogical University.

The concert was preceded by an exhibition of household items, arts and crafts and literature of indigenous people. The guests participated in the workshop on the manufacture of charmed rag dolls and received a Selkup souvenir - a personal amulet. The Selkups performed the ritual of making wishes with the help of tying ribbons.

The event was opened by the anthem of the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation “We are Indigenous”, also written by Vera Tuzakova. The audience of the concert enjoyed Baha-Guno's “Ave Maria” and the song of the fisherwoman - an ancient tune recorded and translated into the Ob in the Kargasok district in 1982. The performanve of this song brought Vera first place at the international vocal competition in Italy. In addition, V.P. Tuzakova performed a number of her patriotic songs: about the raven village of Laskino (Ӄвэ́рэл э̄д), which is no longer there, about the Selkup language, about Siberian nature and people, as well as the premiere song “The Prophecy of the White Wolf”. The legend about the origin of the Raven clan, the Selkup tale about Granny Solomanida, the chastushkas about Granny Mado, became a harmonious addition to the concert.

The event was completed with a traditional round dance, in which all participants and spectators joined hands. The concert left vivid impressions on the guests, the performers and a great working spirit before the main event of the year - the Etudes of the North festival.

"Production Specialization of Tomsk Region 2035" took place In the engineering center of the special economic zone.

At the opening the governor of Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin noted that today the fourth technological revolution is unfolding in Russia and in the whole wide world: “It is very important to determine the vector of development of our region and make the right choice. Together with my team, we are constantly working on the strategy of the Tomsk Region, directing the available resources in the right areas. And today we are so to say synchronize watches with you. Remember how one of the heroes of the film “Kidnapping, Caucasian Style” says that Kuzbass is an all-union forge, and Kuban is an all-union breadbasket. And what what about the Tomsk region?”

The rector of Tomsk State Pedagogical University A.N. Makarenko took part in the discussion, as well as representatives of other Tomsk universities, a board member of the Center for Strategic Research “North-West” Foundation Pyotr Shchedrovitsky and the leadership of high-tech enterprises of Tomsk. Addressing the representatives of universities, the governor emphasized the importance of the national project "Science", the purpose of which is to turn Tomsk into world-class scientific and educational complex.

The Federal Agency for Youth Affairs drew a conclusion for the All-Russian competition of youth projects among educational institutions of higher education, as well as individuals within the framework of youth educational forums. Tomsk State Pedagogical University is again included in the list of winners!

This year, 2553 projects from 381 educational organizations valued at 4.2 billion rubles were submitted for the Competition. According to the recommendations of the expert commission 609 projects from 255 educational organizations were supported. Tomsk State Pedagogical University is among the winners of the Competition with the programs of the All-Russian Student Dance Project “In Motion. The Best ” (“Initiatives of Creative Youth” nomination) and the VIII All-Russian Forum of Student Self-Government Organizations of Pedagogical Higher Education Institutions "In Tomsk" (“Events aimed at the development of superprofessional skills” nomination).The All-Russian Competition of Youth Projects is included in the Grant Competition of Youth Initiatives, which is one of the 19 projects of the open platform “Russia - a land of opportunities”.

In the city of Kazan, more than 800 scientists-specialists specialized in the field of anthropology and ethnology gathered from all over Russia, as well as from near and far abroad, to participate in the Congress “Systems of kinship, connections and communications in the history of mankind: the anthropological aspect”.

A wide range of areas and relevant sessions were presented, including: monitoring of interethnic relations, religion, interfaith relations and ethno-confessional processes in the spiritual space of Russia, migrants, diasporas, ethnic minorities, physical anthropology, ethnological education and enlightenment, ect.

Employees of Tomsk State Pedagogical University - Ph.D. S.V. Kovylin and Ph.D. N.V. Saynakova - made a presentation in the section “Linguistic evidence of relations and communications in the history of human society” with the report “Materials on the toponymy of Priobye (in the area between the three mouths of the Ket river) as confirmation of the intermediate status of the Middle Ob(Sheshkupsky) dialect of the Selkup language”

In addition to the official program, the organizers of the event offered the city visitors various options of the cultural and excursion program on the sights of Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan.

Students of the Faculty of Culture and Arts of the TSPU, future teachers of the visual arts, presented their creative works that were made during the 2018-2019 academic year to teachers and employees of the university. The artists presented paintings, drawings and design works, as well as sketches of future paintings, models, projects, landscape sketches, portrait sketches.

During the presentation, the students were able to hear comments and advices from the entire team of faculty and detailed analysis of the work done and to receive a strict but fair assessment. “The year was very intense: there was a development of new visual materials, new artistic techniques. Despite this, most of the students coped with the tasks”, - said at the dean's office of the Faculty of Culture and Arts of the TSPU.

The summer project “Open pedagogical class” of Tomsk State Pedagogical University for schoolchildren from eight municipalities of the region has been recetly finished. Among the participants were 28 students from 7-11 grades. The work program of the project was timed to the Year of Theater in Russia: kids learned the basics of theatrical pedagogy, revealing its potential in the work of a teacher. “Every day during the week, the guys plunged into the world of a theatrical profession (artist, director, screenwriter, and others), - says Daria Shitik, a student at the Tomsk State Pedagogical University. - The guys visited a lot of workshops (stage movement, stage speech, oratory, acting, script writing) and workshops on making badges and dolls.”

Having received the necessary knowledge, schoolchildren were able to independently develop and implement an educational and creative event for young citizens of Tomsk , which they held at the sites of White Lake. “The program that we invented together and implemented in the historical center of Tomsk has become a real pedagogical practice, - said Ksenia Sannikova, an 11 grade student of school number 83 of Seversk, - We organized playgrounds for children to meet, interact, enhance the emotional background as well as created water-based-makeup, and staged a theatrical production.”

The sights of Tomsk were not left without attention: as part of the project, city guests visited the Tomsk Regional Young Spectator's Theater, the UDI dance school, and the First Museum of Slavic Mythology. The summer camp's participants admitted that for some of them this project opened up a new way to the Pedagogical University and changed their view of the teaching profession, for others it strengthened confidence in the professional path that had already been chosen. “I dream of finishing school with good grades, which will allow me to enroll in TSPU and became an elementary school teacher, - said Ksenia. - I like working with the kids: they are very active and give all their energy to their work.”
