At the opening the governor of Tomsk Region Sergey Zhvachkin noted that today the fourth technological revolution is unfolding in Russia and in the whole wide world: “It is very important to determine the vector of development of our region and make the right choice. Together with my team, we are constantly working on the strategy of the Tomsk Region, directing the available resources in the right areas. And today we are so to say synchronize watches with you. Remember how one of the heroes of the film “Kidnapping, Caucasian Style” says that Kuzbass is an all-union forge, and Kuban is an all-union breadbasket. And what what about the Tomsk region?”

The rector of Tomsk State Pedagogical University A.N. Makarenko took part in the discussion, as well as representatives of other Tomsk universities, a board member of the Center for Strategic Research “North-West” Foundation Pyotr Shchedrovitsky and the leadership of high-tech enterprises of Tomsk. Addressing the representatives of universities, the governor emphasized the importance of the national project "Science", the purpose of which is to turn Tomsk into world-class scientific and educational complex.

The Federal Agency for Youth Affairs drew a conclusion for the All-Russian competition of youth projects among educational institutions of higher education, as well as individuals within the framework of youth educational forums. Tomsk State Pedagogical University is again included in the list of winners!

This year, 2553 projects from 381 educational organizations valued at 4.2 billion rubles were submitted for the Competition. According to the recommendations of the expert commission 609 projects from 255 educational organizations were supported. Tomsk State Pedagogical University is among the winners of the Competition with the programs of the All-Russian Student Dance Project “In Motion. The Best ” (“Initiatives of Creative Youth” nomination) and the VIII All-Russian Forum of Student Self-Government Organizations of Pedagogical Higher Education Institutions "In Tomsk" (“Events aimed at the development of superprofessional skills” nomination).The All-Russian Competition of Youth Projects is included in the Grant Competition of Youth Initiatives, which is one of the 19 projects of the open platform “Russia - a land of opportunities”.

In the city of Kazan, more than 800 scientists-specialists specialized in the field of anthropology and ethnology gathered from all over Russia, as well as from near and far abroad, to participate in the Congress “Systems of kinship, connections and communications in the history of mankind: the anthropological aspect”.

A wide range of areas and relevant sessions were presented, including: monitoring of interethnic relations, religion, interfaith relations and ethno-confessional processes in the spiritual space of Russia, migrants, diasporas, ethnic minorities, physical anthropology, ethnological education and enlightenment, ect.

Employees of Tomsk State Pedagogical University - Ph.D. S.V. Kovylin and Ph.D. N.V. Saynakova - made a presentation in the section “Linguistic evidence of relations and communications in the history of human society” with the report “Materials on the toponymy of Priobye (in the area between the three mouths of the Ket river) as confirmation of the intermediate status of the Middle Ob(Sheshkupsky) dialect of the Selkup language”

In addition to the official program, the organizers of the event offered the city visitors various options of the cultural and excursion program on the sights of Kazan and the Republic of Tatarstan.

Students of the Faculty of Culture and Arts of the TSPU, future teachers of the visual arts, presented their creative works that were made during the 2018-2019 academic year to teachers and employees of the university. The artists presented paintings, drawings and design works, as well as sketches of future paintings, models, projects, landscape sketches, portrait sketches.

During the presentation, the students were able to hear comments and advices from the entire team of faculty and detailed analysis of the work done and to receive a strict but fair assessment. “The year was very intense: there was a development of new visual materials, new artistic techniques. Despite this, most of the students coped with the tasks”, - said at the dean's office of the Faculty of Culture and Arts of the TSPU.

The summer project “Open pedagogical class” of Tomsk State Pedagogical University for schoolchildren from eight municipalities of the region has been recetly finished. Among the participants were 28 students from 7-11 grades. The work program of the project was timed to the Year of Theater in Russia: kids learned the basics of theatrical pedagogy, revealing its potential in the work of a teacher. “Every day during the week, the guys plunged into the world of a theatrical profession (artist, director, screenwriter, and others), - says Daria Shitik, a student at the Tomsk State Pedagogical University. - The guys visited a lot of workshops (stage movement, stage speech, oratory, acting, script writing) and workshops on making badges and dolls.”

Having received the necessary knowledge, schoolchildren were able to independently develop and implement an educational and creative event for young citizens of Tomsk , which they held at the sites of White Lake. “The program that we invented together and implemented in the historical center of Tomsk has become a real pedagogical practice, - said Ksenia Sannikova, an 11 grade student of school number 83 of Seversk, - We organized playgrounds for children to meet, interact, enhance the emotional background as well as created water-based-makeup, and staged a theatrical production.”

The sights of Tomsk were not left without attention: as part of the project, city guests visited the Tomsk Regional Young Spectator's Theater, the UDI dance school, and the First Museum of Slavic Mythology. The summer camp's participants admitted that for some of them this project opened up a new way to the Pedagogical University and changed their view of the teaching profession, for others it strengthened confidence in the professional path that had already been chosen. “I dream of finishing school with good grades, which will allow me to enroll in TSPU and became an elementary school teacher, - said Ksenia. - I like working with the kids: they are very active and give all their energy to their work.”

On the 27th of June graduates of schools of the Tomsk region were awarded with federal and regional medals during the solemn award ceremony. 16 future applicants were awarded with federal medals for receiving a school leaving certificate with excelent marks. 14 students were awarded with regional medals for special achievements in learning (in the field of science, culture, art and sports). All medal winners received gifts from Tomsk State Pedagogical University.

The head of the Tomsk region A.A. Tereshchenko, Vice-Rector for Academic Affairs, TSPU, M.P. Voytekhovskaya, Head of the Education Department of the Tomsk Region Administration, Yu.V. Dubovitskaya and principles of Malinovskaya and Rassvetovskoy Secondary Schools have congratulated the graduates and presented them awards.

During the summer holidays, students of 7-8 grades from Tomsk schools attended classes of the Summer School of Entertaining Sciences in Tomsk State Pedagogical University. The Summer School’s program included studies in physics, mathematics, computer science, and astronomy. At Astronomy lessons, the guys made a “space journey”, at Physics - they got acquainted with the amazing properties of liquids, solved scientific sharades, launched self-made boomerangs and solved experimental tasks. A lesson in Math was organized in a way of imaginary sea adventure, in which children “ploughed seas” of logical tasks and effortlessly revealed “Secrets of Numbers”. At computer science lesson, students learned what cryptography is and learned how to encrypt information.

”In addition, the participants of the School visited the Museum of Information Technology of the TSPU, where they got acquainted with the history of personal computers and other technical devices. On the excursion, the children got a chance to look at the numerous exhibits reflecting the main milestones in the development of computing technology, in particular, an adding machine, a plotter, Yamaha PC models and much more. According to the tradition the “Summer School of Entertaining Sciences” ended with the fascinating quest “In Search of Sacred Knowledge”.

Specialists of the Department of Economic Theory of the Faculty of Economics and Management (Head of the Department V.V. Sizov) and the Center for Children and Youth Tourism of the TSPU conducted an educational event "The Day of the Scientific Project in Tourism". The main objectives of the event were: to discus market conditions for the development and implementation of projects, to assess of graduates' soft and hard skills, to create conditions for the participants to realize their capabilities.

The event consisted of two stages, the first of which (theoretical) included the defense of theses and collective discussion. Younger students acted as analysts, asked questions, defended their views of the problem, tried themselves as experts by giving points. The open discussion helped graduate students to take into account the nuances of their work and resolve many questions. Younger students got an opportunity to see future prospects and to correct their scientific route now.

The second stage was organized in the "Boiling point" space. The guys were given the opportunity to take part in the discussion of projects submitted by experts during the regional stage of the All-Russian competition of professional skills of workers in the tourism sector "The best in the tourism industry." The organizers of this competition were representatives of the Department of Culture and Tourism of the Tomsk Region.

The Juraj Dobrila University of Pula held the International Conference “European Intellectuals at the Turn of the 19th - 20th Centuries” , in which Svetlana Karpenko, Candidate of Philological Sciences, Associate Professor of the Russian Language Department of the Faculty of History and Philology TSPU, took part.

The conference was organized with the support of the Center for Russian Language and Culture "Pushkin Institute" and the Croatian Association of Teachers of Russian Language and Literature Specialists from Russia, Croatia, Georgia, Austria, Germany, Macedonia and Serbia were among the guests of the scientific event. It is symbolic that the conference was held in the building where the Higher Pedagogical Academy was located earlier, which was merged with the Higher School of Economics in 2006 thus forming the modern University of Pula.

Svetlana Karpenko made a presentation “Linguistic personality of N.S. Gumilev: the experience of cognitive analysis in the aspect of the category of intelligence ". The work of the sections was organized in the building of the Philosophy Faculty of the University and in the Castle of Soardo-Bembo (city of Bale). In scope of the conference an event dedicated to the celebration of the Day of the Russian Language and the jubilee of A.S. Pushkin (220 years of birth) was held. At the end of the work, a collective monograph “Interdisciplinary research on the European intelligentsia at the turn of the XIX - XX centuries” was published. There was also a presentation of the book “871 Day” by Ninel Koribskaya about the Siege of Leningrad (translation into the Croatian language by Irena Mikulaco). One copy was given to Irena Mikulazo as a gift to the TSPU.

At the end of the event Karpenko met with Yvona Peternel, representative of the International Department of the University. Representatives of two universities discussed opportunities for cooperation. After hard work, the participants were offered a cultural program: a visit to the cities of Bale, Rovinj, a tour of the city of Pula, a visit to the amphitheater, musical and literary concerts.
