Tomsk State Pedagogical University. During the meeting between the guest and the rector of the TSPU Andrei Nikolaevich Makarenko and employees of the Department for International Cooperation of the TSPU, the parties discussed issues of interaction between universities in the field of education and science in order to expand effective and mutually beneficial ties.

Based on the results of communication, an agreement was reached on the organization of training of students of the Tajik Pedagogical Institute of the Russian language on the basis of the TSPU for further work in schools and universities of Tajikistan as teachers of the Russian language. In addition, the prospects for cooperation with the Ministry of Education of Tajikistan on the allocation of quotas for the training of students and staff of the Tajik Pedagogical Institute at TSPU were discussed.

The 25th International Festival-Competition for Children and Youth Literary Creativity “The World Speaks From the Children's mouth” was held on the basis of the Regional Children and Youth Library. The TSPU students from China and Mongolia successfully represented the university and demonstrated a high level of Russian language proficiency.

Foreign graduate students and bachelors of the Faculty of History and Philology of the TSPU presented their Russian translations of literary works from their countries. Competition experts, including poets, prose writers and translators from Russia and other countries, praised the quality of the work done by students of the TSPU, noted the figurativeness and expressiveness of Russian speech, which allowed participants to convey the richness of their national literature.

Among the winners of the anniversary festival-contest were Dong Shenlin, Zhang Siyyu, Wang Sizhan, Du Jianin (China) and Aidan Yerlan (Mongolia). The guys were awarded with diplomas in the nomination “Bridges of friendship”.

In addition to the competition part, the festival opened the opportunity for participants to attend round tables, workshops and creative laboratories, where Russian and foreign poets and writers shared the secrets of literary skill.

For the fourth time, the Tomsk State Pedagogical University has become one of the venues for the International Educational Campaign "Big Ethnographic Dictation" in Tomsk, dedicated to the National Unity Day.

The supervisor of the site was the doctor of historical sciences, head of the Department of Archeology and Ethnology of the Faculty of History and Philology of the TSPU Natalya Anatolyevna Tuchkova. The organization and holding of the intellectual event was undertaken by student volunteers of the Faculty of History and Philology of the TSPU.More than 80 people passed the dictation on the basis of the Tomsk Pedagogical. The average score is 61.85 (out of 100).

The educational event "Students to Children" was organized by activists of the faculty of pre-school and primary education of the TSPU as part of the All-Russian Science Festival "NAUKA +". Groups of senior preschool children from kindergartens No. 100, No. 76 and No. 40 of Tomsk took part in the quest game “Journey to the Country of Chemical Elements”. The role of the scientists who helped the participants move along the game route was made by first-year students of the faculty of preschool and elementary education.

The participants' path was not easy: moving from station to station, the kids solved puzzles, riddles, creative, intellectual tasks, tried to find clues. “The quest game helped the participants gain experience in a team work, develop social and communicative qualities, - notes the dean of the faculty of preschool and elementary education I.A. The famous American magazine U.S. News & World Report has published an international ranking of higher education institutions Best Global Universities Rankings, which includes the 1500 best universities of the world.

17 Russian universities are represented in the overall ranking, and another 7 Russian universities are included in the academic ratings of U.S. News Best Global Universities rankings. The universities of our country are most widely represented in the following academic ratings “Physics” (19 universities), “Chemistry” (14), “Materials Science” (9) and “Engineering Sciences” (8).

Tomsk State Pedagogical University took 563 place in the field of Physics [1] among the strongest universities and 14 place [2] in the same area among Russian universities. According to a number of criteria, such as: “Physics regional research reputation” and “Physics international collaboration”, TSPU is among the 200 best universities in the world (158 and 118 places respectively).

TSPU is the only pedagogical university of the Russian Federation included in the Best Global Universities Rankings (in all areas of knowledge), and one of the 24 best universities in Russia on the list.

Tomsk athletes Dmitry Cherkashin and Olga Morozova are preparing to perform at the world championship among juniors  in weightlifting. These prestigious competitions will be held in the Serbian city of Novi Sad from 6 to 10 of November.

The results of the competitions for the scholarships of the President and the Government of the Russian Federation for the 2019-2020 academic year have been summarized.

According to the results of the competitive selection among students of educational institutions of higher education administered by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, as well as private organizations engaged in educational activities in the field of higher education, three students of Tomsk State Pedagogical University were awarded with scholarships.

The winner of the scholarship of the President of the Russian Federation was a 5th year student Vitaliy Evgenievich Mineev (scientific adviser Ismailov Gafurzhan Mamatkulovich, Ph.D. subject areas "Technology" and "Life Safety").

2-year graduate student Alina Aleksandrovna Gryazeva (scientific adviser - Sinogina Elena Stanislavovna, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Life Safety and Medical and Biological Disciplines, Head of the Department of Technical Disciplines and Computer Graphics) was awarded a scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation. Research interests: conditions for the formation of cyber addiction and the impact of the Internet on the mental health of adolescents).

Scholarship of the Government of the Russian Federation was also awarded to a 2-year graduate student Irina Nikolaevna Ryabtseva (supervisor - Vakhitova Galiya Khamitovna, Ph.D., associate professor of the Department of Pedagogy and Methodology of Primary Education. Research interests: implementation of a multisubject approach in pre-school education).

Tomsk State Pedagogical University confirmed the status of the best pedagogical university of the country and Eastern Europe and again took first place in the rating by the international agency QS.

In total, the new list includes 100 of the best Russian universities (about 15% of all universities in the Russian Federation). For the third year in a row the TSPU has taken a leading position among pedagogical universities of Russia. In addition, the Tomsk State Pedagogical University entered the first 5% of the best universities in the country in all areas. In terms of citation, TSPU, as before, ranks first among Russian universities.

The ranking of universities is based on a comparative analysis according to the main criteria: scientific reputation, reputation among employers, the ratio of the number of students to the pedagogical staff of the university, publication activity, the percentage of foreign students and foreign teachers, scientific citation of publications, presence on the Internet, etc.

The delegation of foreign students of Tomsk State Pedagogical University presented our university at the VIII Congress of the Russian Foreign Students’ Association, held at the Ural State University of Economics (Yekaterinburg).

The Department of International Cooperation of TSPU organized the participation of TSPU students Chan Kim Huyen Chang (Vietnam, Faculty of Foreign Languages), Ganbat Manduhai (Mongolia, Faculty of Foreign Languages) and Tarigan Merry Iovita (Indonesia, Faculty of Economics and Management).

In the process of the Congress, participants from 33 universities of Russia, representing 37 countries of the world, discussed the problems of foreign students in our country, as well as issues related to their leisure and life, involvement of universities in educational and extra-academic activities, and the organization of effective intercultural communication.

As a result of the Congress, a Resolution was adopted, which will soon be sent to the President of Russia, the Government of the Russian Federation, ministries and departments responsible for resolving pressing issues concerning foreign students in Russia.
