The student of the Faculty of History and Philology of the TSPU Valeria Tabrosko joined the international volunteer program "Ambassadors of the Russian language in the world", implemented by the State Institute of the Russian Language named after A.S. Pushkin (Moscow) and supported by the Presidential Grants Fund.

It’s not so easy to become a participant in the project: candidates have to complete several competitive stages, including reading any poem, showing a concert number, presenting a fragment of a lesson according to the proposed methodology. In addition, all future teachers of the Russian language undergo distance two-week training on the basis of Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, as well as three-day training at the State Institute of Applied Mathematics named after A.S. Pushkin, which includes useful lectures and master classes.

This year, all who successfully completed the tests and passed the verification test perfectly went to one of four countries - Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia - to teach Russian in schools. “I had the opportunity to visit the beautiful city of Khujand in Tajikistan, where we were welcomed at five schools throughout the week of the educational trip, - Valeria says. - A tour program was also organized for us in museums: we visited the Russian Center for Science and Culture and the Consulate General of the Russian Federation”.

In a fun way, the ambassadors introduced foreign students to the Russian language, culture and literature of Russia. The main task is to make children love the culture of Russia and the Russian language, to form a motivation for study. “I believe that this program provides excellent opportunities aimed at expanding its pedagogical potential, and makes it possible to gain incredible pedagogical experience, - Valeria says. - As a result of my first expedition, I received the badge and the status of the current program ambassador”.

Traditional events for schoolchildren of Tomsk and the Tomsk Region — the regional scientific-practical conference “I study nature” and the exhibition-festival “Science for Children” –– gathered about 90 participants at the TSPU. The guests were welcomed by Dean of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the TSPU Elena Georgievna Pyanykh and Associate Professor of the Department of General Physics of the TSPU Aleksey Removich Arzhanik.

The program started with the exhibition-festival "Science for Children." This year, interesting exhibits and experiments were demonstrated by employees of the Museum of the Beginning of Science “The Point of Gravity”, the TEMUR STEM Center, the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics of TSPU, the Secondary School No. 37 of Tomsk, the “Kvantorium children's technopark”, the Center for Additional Physics, Mathematics and Science of the TSPU. Hosts of the exhibition showed schoolchildren their developments and projects, conducted workshops, preceding the start of the 14th "I study nature" conference.

At the seven sections of the conference, the speakers presented scientific projects and their results: the children observed the life of ants in artificial conditions, understood the composition of the soap, gained electricity from vegetables and fruits, grew plants in the “Martian environment” and much more.

Tomsk State Pedagogical University took a leading position in the National Aggregate Rating of Russian Universities. It entered the first league, having received a high mark in all respects.

In total, the study presents an analysis of the achievements of 721 universities in Russia, only 38 universities made it to the first league.

To conduct the study, we considered the positions of universities in eight ratings that satisfy the requirements of publicity, stability, mass character and frequency:

1. National University Rating - Interfax.
2. “First Mission” Rating (based on the project “Best Educational Programs of Innovative Russia”).
3. University Rankings RAEX.
4. Rating of demand for universities - RIA-Novosti.
5. Rating according to Performance Monitoring.
6. "Assessment of the quality of training" Rating
7. Rating according to the results of professional and public accreditation.
8. International recognition rating.

The strongest athletes from among the students of the country competed each other in kettlebell lifting: The All-Russian competitions were held on the basis of the Siberian State University of Physical Culture and Sports (Omsk). The team of the Faculty of phydical culture and sports of the TSPU showed a high level of professionalism: our students took the third place, as well as excel in personal standings.

More than 120 athletes from ten regions of the country came for medals in Omsk, including Tomsk, Chelyabinsk, Kurgan, Omsk regions, and the Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug. The first day of the competition opened the opportunity for the participants to compete in a long cycle, as well as pass relay races. On the second day, athletes fought for victory in biathlon (men) and snatch (women).

According to the test results, the TSPU team became the third in the overall standings. In their weight categories, our students took the winning and prize places: Ilya Tsybaev (first place in biathlon and second in the long cycle), Olga Morozova (second place in the long cycle), Dmitry Denisenko (second place in the long cycle), Rakhmon Kadimov (third place in biathlon). The team’s coach was Vladimir Sergeevich Polyansky, associate professor of the TSPU, an international class master of sports in weight lifting.

The competition was organized by the Russian Student Sports Union with the support of the Ministry of Sports of the Russian Federation and the All-Russian Federation of Weight Lifting.

In the "Jupiter" sports complex the Boxing Championship of Tomsk Region ended. 278 boxers from Zyryansky, Kargasoksky, Parabelsky, Pervomaisky districts, the cities of Asino, Strezhevoy, Seversk and Tomsk became participants in the competition.

In the weight category over 91 kg Sergey Misuno, a student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of TSPU (coach-teacher V. G. Pimenov) won. Oraz Sobirov, a student of the Faculty of Technology and Entrepreneurship of TSPU, became the winner in the 60 kg weight category (trainer and teacher Y.Y. Ribitsky).

The main judge of the competition was Dmitry Nikulin, judge of the international category, Seversk. The panel of judges also included students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the  TSPU Azamat Gagloev, Igor Kuzmin and Kirill Tolstov. Over the four days of the competition it was visited by more than 2 000 people.

Employees of Tomsk State Pedagogical University, along with colleagues from other universities of the city, as well as the Moscow School of Management "Skolkovo", are taking part in the events of "the Big University" project that will unite all Tomsk universities and research institutes. The opening of the "Big University" will be a serious step towards winning the competition for the creation of a world-class scientific and educational center. 

“I believe that Tomsk science should be more visible, and this is one of the main goals of the project. The business should have one entry point for the implementation of research and development. Tomsk Oblast is one of the few regions of Russia that can move science and technology, taking into account its diversity”, - said S.A. Zhvachkin, the governor of the Tomsk region

"The Big University" will become a powerful platform for the joint work of Tomsk universities to solve local and federal problems. Moreover, the head of the region said that the main idea is not about combining universities into one legal entity with one rector, academic council and student ID card. The focus is on the synergy that exists today, for example, at Oxford and Stanford.

The Tomsk State Pedagogical University confirmed its position as the best pedagogical university in Russia, according to the results of the Webometrics rating (Ranking Web of Universities) dated November 27, 2019.

The rating methodology is based on an analysis of the university’s representation in the global information space, namely the criteria of “presence”, “fame”, “openness” and “superiority”.

TSPU again became the best among pedagogical universities of Russia and took 26th place among all universities of our country.

In the city of Kstovo, Nizhny Novgorod Region, the Russian Sambo Cup was held. An excellent result in the category up to 64 kg was shown by a student of TSPU Valeria Anisimova, who had four fights and won in each of them!

"I am pleased with the result and will try not to let the national team down at the World Cup. The competitions turned out to be very difficult emotionally, a victory at the Russian Cup is a very important result for me”, - said Valeria.

The Russian Sambo Cup was the last official compition of this year, according to the results of which the Russian national team will be formed to participate in the Anatoly Kharlampiev Memorial World Cup. Having risen to the highest step of the pedestal, a student of TSPU, a student of the Tomsk regional sports school of the Olympic reserve, an athlete-instructor of the children and youth sports school "Rus", international master of sports of Russia Valeria Anisimova secured her place in world-class competitions.

 In Barnaul, the awarding ceremony of the Siberian Festival of Non-Profit Social Video Advertising to promote a healthy lifestyle and an active civic position, “Alternative Vision” was held. The winner in the nomination “The Best Social Video” was the team of the Children's health camp “Cape Verde”, which included director and scriptwriter? undergraduate student of the faculty of history and philology (FHP) of the TSPU Gleb Balabaev. Sergey Dushkin was cinematographer and Maria Syrenkova provided offscreen commentary.

A little backstory ... The first program of the summer season 2019 "The Legacy of the Times. String of history" in the "Cape Verde" was held with the participation of the Russian military-historical society. The program was the author’s development of FHP postgraduate student of the TSPU Gleb Igorevich Balabaev and the TSPU graduate Anastasia Viktorovna Dikk. “During the work, special attention was paid to the study of the life and military affairs of Ancient Russia in a game form, - say representatives of TSPU. - It has long been known that in a playful way any material is absorbed much better than from textbooks. To consolidate interest in the story and understand its importance, a short film was shot, which we showed the guys on the last day of the program”

In the fall, the video was included in the list of competitive works of the Alternative Video festival, the organizers of which seek to support the creative youth of the regions of the Siberian Federal District. The originality of the idea was highly appreciated by the jury. The Cape Verde team became the winner and received prizes, as well as a letter of appreciation for the initiative, the implementation of socially significant projects, the promotion of a healthy lifestyle and an active citizenship.

Activists of the volunteer detachment of TSPU “Point of View” made a traditional visit to the Boarding school for students with visual impairments. Under the supervision of the TSPU students the pupils of the school became participants in the sports and intellectual game “The Way of the Best”.

Students of 1-3 grades were united in several groups of different ages. During the game, the guys managed to improve teamwork skills, increase the level of communication when interacting with classmates and adults. In a playful way the children gained knowledge in the field of mathematics, as well as the rules of the road. They aslo strengthened their physical qualities, including dexterity, speed and endurance.
Participants in the sports-intellectual game were awarded with diplomas to remember that wonderful day.
