Winter adventures of TSPU "Clover" squad

Winter holidays is not the time to relax! That’s exactly what the members of the "Clover" team of the TSPU believe, who, led by commander Artem Nagornov, went on a winter shift to Asinovsky District.
The journey of our students is organized as part of the "Elbrus" Snow Troop Unit. Within ten days, volunteers will organize career counseling meetings with rural youth, workshops and agitation talks with schoolchildren as well as participate in cultural and sports events for residents. They also add some spark to the leisure of several small villages with vivid concert performances. In addition, there are good deeds planned in the students' program: "Clover" members will help veterans, the elderly and people with disabilities in clearing snow, and will clear municipal objects from snow cover.
“The charge of energy and positive emotions that we will receive on the road will help restore the strength lost at the session and tune in to hard work in the next semester, and memories will warm the soul for many years to come", - said the activists of "Clover" student squad of the TSPU.

TSPU IN POLAND: LEARNING AND TRAVELING
Students of the Faculty of Foreign Languages (FFL) of the TSPU spent the winter semester at the University of Poland: four months ago, eight of our stidents went to study at a university in Wroclaw as part of an academic exchange program. Svetlana Zakharenko, second-year undergraduate of the FFL, told us about study, student life, cultural and educational events and travels throughout Europe.
For FFL students, studying in Wroclaw is a real fairy tale! We gain a lot of experience in the classroom, as they all conducted in English. The most favorite subject in most of our company was the Practice of Speech, conducted by native speakers from the USA or Great Britain. The advantage of such classes is that it is possible to ask any questions related to culture and language. After classes communication in English does not end: students from different countries live in hostels, everyone is interested to learn about each other, about the characteristics of other nationalities and disprove (or confirm) a couple of stereotypes. Most of all we managed to learn about the people of Spain thanks to our neighbors Raquel and Martha: the Spaniards are surprisingly open and positive people who will certainly hug you at a meeting and invite you to a party.
Communication with people from different countries greatly enhances the desire to explore the world. From Wroclaw it is very easy to get to Germany, the Czech Republic, Austria, Hungary, the Netherlands, France. There is always the opportunity to go to another city or country, try an unusual dish, see with your own eyes things that you preveiously had only seen on pictures. Although, if you ask me which city is my favorite, I will answer - Wroclaw. It is so beautiful, comfortable and feels like home already.
Special evetns are prganized for exchange students that help them to feel at home faster, providing an opportunity to chat with each other, to learn the city and culture of the country. Christmas chants will forever remain in my memory as the warmest and most memorable event. Within a month, everyone was rehearsing holiday songs. The teachers did not care if we could sing or not. They all had one answer: “On the day of your performance, magic will turn you into a choir of angels.” It was that rare occasion when a miracle happened. It was magical!
Many thanks to my beloved university and faculty for such an opportunity!
The training of TSPU students in Wroclaw will end with the final test. They will also give an assessment of the level of proficiency in oral speech: the teacher will evaluate the possibilities of speaking in the course of a lively dialogue of students. Having received written confirmation that the training in Poland was successfully completed, the guys will return to Tomsk, where they will have exams and tests in their native language.

FINAL VIEWING OF CREATIVE WORKS MADE BY STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF CULTURE AND ARTS
Semi-annual academic viewing of educational and creative student works was held at the Faculty of Culture and Arts of TSPU. As usual representatives of the faculty - honored artists, art historians - took part in it.
Teachers evaluate the fine art of students by looking at paintings in three stages and noting the quality and stylistic variety of art works. In addition, a number of problems were noted related to the general level of training of students: associate professor of the department of music and art education N.N. Vagin believs that class attendance is one of the most important factors in the effectiveness of the educational process and professional growth.
By the end of the examinations, teachers plan to select the best artwork and, together with students, organize a traditional exhibition based on the results of the exams.

NEW SEASON OF GOOD AFFAIRS OF TEAM TSPU “POINT OF VIEW”
In the new year of 2020, activists of the volunteer team “Point of View” of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University continue their close cooperation with the Children's Charity Fund of Alena Petrova. The children of fund liked working with volunteers as part of the “Touch” project, aimed at the socio-psychological support of families in need of palliative care.
At weekly meetings, the TSPU volunteers help the Foundation’s child psychologist conduct thematic workshops and entertaining and gaming programs for children. During the implementation (the project was launched last year), 12 classes were held, thanks to which the children got the opportunity to develop their creative and communicative skills, and the volunteers gained invaluable pedagogical experience.
The first meeting took place in the new year: together with our volunteers children made crafts from thermomosaic, played games and just talked on various topics. Joint work within the framework of the Touch project has become a good tradition and is implemented by the Foundation’s specialists and volunteers of the Point of View squad of the TSPU every Thursday.

TSPU STUDENT - THE AMBASSADOR OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE IN THE WORLD
The student of the Faculty of History and Philology of the TSPU Valeria Tabrosko joined the international volunteer program "Ambassadors of the Russian language in the world", implemented by the State Institute of the Russian Language named after A.S. Pushkin (Moscow) and supported by the Presidential Grants Fund.
It’s not so easy to become a participant in the project: candidates have to complete several competitive stages, including reading any poem, showing a concert number, presenting a fragment of a lesson according to the proposed methodology. In addition, all future teachers of the Russian language undergo distance two-week training on the basis of Pushkin State Russian Language Institute, as well as three-day training at the State Institute of Applied Mathematics named after A.S. Pushkin, which includes useful lectures and master classes.
This year, all who successfully completed the tests and passed the verification test perfectly went to one of four countries - Tajikistan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan, Armenia - to teach Russian in schools. “I had the opportunity to visit the beautiful city of Khujand in Tajikistan, where we were welcomed at five schools throughout the week of the educational trip, - Valeria says. - A tour program was also organized for us in museums: we visited the Russian Center for Science and Culture and the Consulate General of the Russian Federation”.
In a fun way, the ambassadors introduced foreign students to the Russian language, culture and literature of Russia. The main task is to make children love the culture of Russia and the Russian language, to form a motivation for study. “I believe that this program provides excellent opportunities aimed at expanding its pedagogical potential, and makes it possible to gain incredible pedagogical experience, - Valeria says. - As a result of my first expedition, I received the badge and the status of the current program ambassador”.
