TSPU STUDENT, MASTER OF SPORTS OF RUSSIA in Kyokushin in interview with EDITOR of “SIBKYOKUSHIN”

Accepting the challenges of the new reality, students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the TSPU try to maintain their shape at home.

Today our guest is Nikita Zezulya, student of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, master of sports of Russia in kyokushin, bronze medalist of the All-Russian tournament «AKR» 2018, two-time medalist of the Russian Cup, winner of the Russian Championship, bronze medalist of the World Championship.

In the editorial office of the «SibKyokushin» community, he will tell about sports life in self-isolation, transition to a new category, as well as future prospects.

- How do you keep fit during self-isolation?

- As well as before self-isolation - study, training. I keep in shape with cross-country exercises on horizontal bars and parallel bars.

- In the adult category, you have already won the Cup of Russia, became the winner of the All-Russian tournament "AKP", while you are only 21 years old. How did you manage to successfully enter the new category?

- All the achievements are merit of the trainers. They competently build the training process and form the mood for victory.

- Your most frequent opponent is Viktor Belyaev, he is also from Tomsk.

- We have a good relationship with Victor. I respect him, but I do not keep a personal account.

- At the moment, you are one of the brightest fighters in Siberia, with beautiful punches, combinations, and several times you have managed to knockout your opponents. Tell us how you can quickly make non-standard decisions and how are knockout techniques prepared?

- Knockout techniques are prepared in many repetitions of the selected strike. Decisions to beat are made depending on when you see that the opponent lowered his hand. And thanks to muscle memory, the leg flies out automatically.

- A beautiful fight was demonstrated by you and Bolotov Vadim from Novosibirsk at the Championship of the Siberian Federal District. But besides you, in the category up to 80 kg no one else showed up. What is the reason for the drop in competition among men in the Siberian region?

- This is due to the fact that many fighters do not reach the age of 18+. If you are going to fight in “adult” category, you must live in sports, this should be your main goal. Many take exams, go to universities and they can’t combine sports and studies.

- Which of the young guys could compete among men in the future?

- I would like to mention the guy from Kemerovo - Spartak Ogly Razhda (coach F. Kasumov), from Tomsk - Sergey Andropov (coach K. Rodin).

- In March, the IFK Russian Championship took place, where you lost to the winner of the tournament. What was not enough to win?

- I lacked the proper mood, I think next time everything will be different.

- During quarantine, ipeople tend to be nostalgic and remember the bouts of past years. When you were younger, whose fights impressed you?

- I always watch the old battles of Hajime Kazumi and Farid Kasumov.

Ready set Go!

Last year, the Sport contest of Peoples of the TSPU became a landmark international event of the university: a unique venue gathered participants and guests from all over the world, involving foreign students in the sports traditions of Russia. Students of the TSPU from 12 countries of the world decided to show their physical abilities today, having accepted the friendly challenge from the owners of the arena - the team of Russian students.

Words of encouragement to the participants were said by the vice-rector for international activities of the TSPU Konstantin Evgenievich Osetrin: “Dear friends, today we are opening the second student Games of the peoples of the TSPU! The city of Tomsk is one of the student centers of Russia, as well as a center of science and culture, uniting the European and Asian parts of Russia. Universities of our city take first places in the ratings of Russian universities. By the proportion of foreign students, Tomsk is the first in Russia. We hope that today's sports event will help you make new contacts, find new friends!

Today, students from 25 countries study at the TSPU, but the boldest were the guys from England, the Czech Republic, Poland, Japan, China, Vietnam, Indonesia, Russia, Mongolia and the CIS countries who did not miss the opportunity to compete for the title of winners of the Games. And if the basic stages of the competition were familiar to many - football, basketball, darts, - the rounds of relay race aroused genuine interest among foreigners: “It’s not easy for us today, - said students of Bristol University Matthew William and Edoardo Benjamin. - Not football or basketball, but the relay ... we are British and we have never seen such a sport, but it was fun!” The guys arrived at the TSPU to study Russian just a week ago, but they accepted the offer to participate in the sports contest right away.

Each team went for the victory, but as a result of the competition, they turned into a test of their own abilities and a fun pastime: “We wanted to win, but in Russia they truthfully say that the main thing is participation, - says Lucie, a student at the TSPU from the Czech Republic. - We have never met the guys from the team before, but we managed to cooperate. Now, I think we will become true friends!"

The atmosphere was ignited by performances of young gymnasts and karatekas, song numbers, exciting cheerleader dance and even a theater performance of the artistic fencing studio “SABERIA”.

Despite the absolutely friendly nature of the meeting, the long-awaited awards - cups and medals - found their owners. In the team event, the Russian team pulled ahead, the CIS countries became the second, and the Chinese team came in third. In addition, personal tests were summed up, and all players received medals of the participants of the Spartakiad, made from traditional Russian materials.
