CHULYM LANGUAGE FOR CHULYM PEOPLE: FROM THEORY TO PRACTICE WITH THE TSPU ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR
The project "Museum — is a center for the revival of the Chulym culture" became one of the winners in the "Medium grant" nomination of the "Museum - a point of growth" competition organized by the Department of Culture of the Tomsk Region and the Tomsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after M. B. Shatilov in the framework of the governor's program.
The implementation of the project was done with a help of Chulym language teacher Valeria Mikhailovna Lemskaya, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Translation and Translation Studies at the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Cooperation of the TSPU.

V.M. Lemskaya has been studying the Chulym language since 2005, she is one of the few specialists in the world, her Ph.D. thesis was the third (and so far the last) Russian academic work on the Chulym-Turkic language. Valeria managed to work with the speakers of all Chulym dialects at the turn of the XX-XXI centuries, including the last speaker of the Lower Chulym dialect. She recorded unique audio (about 200 hours) and video (about 70 hours) files, as well as annotated and published a large body of linguistic data on the Chulym language.
Note
Chulym (or Chulym-Turkic) language is common in the middle reaches of the Chulym River in the Teguldetsky district of the Tomsk region and the Tyukhtetsky district of the Krasnoyarsk Territory. From the research of the Chulym language in the 1940s. the systematic study of the small languages of the peoples of Siberia and the North began at the Department of Indigenous Languages of Siberia, TSPU. Currently, there are very few speakers of the Chulym language, according to scientists — no more than 50 people. Many ethnic Chulyms now speak Russian, but want to regain command of their native language and expand knowledge about their native culture.

The “School of Successful Life” was first held in 2008, since then journalists, politicians, scientists, businessmen, representatives of the education sector have become guests of this project. As organizers of the project note, these people “were not brought up in a teacher's room, they were brought up by life”.
“The main benefit of the meetings is the upbringing of schoolchildren like me, who are difficult to motivate with something ordinary, — says the lyceum student Ilya Konygin. — You get the opportunity to communicate with people who have already achieved success, people who are difficult to meet on the street like this. Of course, they inspire you".
The moderator of the meeting of the TSPU rector with the schoolchildren was the director of the Governor's Svetlensky Lyceum Alexander Gennadievich Saybedinov. During the conversation, Andrei Nikolayevich shared his story, outlining the stages of his personal trajectory of professional development, gave recommendations on choosing a further path, how to pick a university and future profession, and answered questions from listeners.
"I was worried about the differences in the quality of education in Russia and abroad, because I want to try to enter a foreign university, — says Elvira Ivanova. — After talking with the rector of the TSPU, I realized that the level of acquired knowledge and skills will depend not only on the teachers or the school and the chosen university. But to a greater extent from myself and the desire to become better in my chosen profession. I share Makarenko's idea that throughout life you need to constantly replenish your knowledge."
The children were interested in philosophical and even everyday questions. Participation in the School became useful for both parties: for the rector of TSPU to participate in a sincere and lively dialogue with teenagers, and for lyceum students to get an unprecedented experience to hear the story of one more success.

TSPU VOLUNTEERS ARE INVOLVED IN THE "TOUCH" PROJECT
The volunteer team "Point of View" of the TSPU has been actively cooperating with the Children's Charitable Foundation named after Alena Petrova. Our volunteers have participsted in many projects, including "Open Yourself", "Mom's Pies" and the "Touch" program, the work on which started again this academic year.
Within the scope of the "Touch" project, the TSPU volunteers visit the foundation once a week to provide pupils with an interesting and useful activities, relieve the psychological stress of children: they conduct educational games for them, read fairy tales, and make craftwork together.
More than three hundred families with gravely ill children live in the Tomsk region. Caring for a special kids requires a huge amount of resources that are not easy to recover. The purpose of the "Touch" project is psychological and emotional assistance to parents of seriously ill children. While parents are working with specialists, the volunteers from the TSPU's "Point of View" detachment and a psychologist are working with their children. The activist Anastasia Pavlyuchenko told about her experience in this project:
“Volunteers organize workshops, help children to complete tasks. But the main activity is games. Most often, it turns out that one child gets one volunteer companion. Fortunately, there are countless toys in the Center, so children won't get bored and wander around”.
Work in the fund requires absolute dedication from volunteers, however, the students themselves note that for them this work is a kind of way to refresh and "relieve their feelings." In addition, cooperation with the Foundation helps the members of the "Point of View" accumulate the necessary experience for further fruitful work with the children that require palliative assistance.
