The Governor's Svetlensky Lyceum became an experimental site for educational practices of the Institute for the Development of Pedagogical Education of TSPU: a cooperation agreement was signed by the head of the Lyceum A. G. Saibedinov and Director of Institute for the Development of Pedagogical Education N. A Semenova.
“The Institute's practices contribute to the effective implementation of new educational technologies and products in the educational process, — said the manager of the experimental practices Larisa Kurovskaya, — by cooperation with the Governor's Svetlensky Lyceum, we plan to research and develop the concept of Emotional Education, as well as introduce it to future teachers”.
To implement this goal, a research laboratory for emotional education was created at the TSPU, headed by Alexander Saybedinov, director of the Governor's Svetlensky Lyceum, winner of the Russian Teacher award, and the author of the concept of emotional education. Svetlensky Lyceum has a unique pedagogical experience, which is of great research interest and prospects for successful integration into the educational process of the TSPU.
“The concept of emotional education is based on the principle of changing the content of education: 20% of lyceum's curriculum are lessons of the artistic and aesthetic direction composed by Alexander Gennadievich Saybedinov (in a regular school there are no more than 5% of such subjects), — said Natalia Semyonova. — At the same time, the progress of students has improved in the subjects of the natural science cycle - chemistry, physics, mathematics. We consider the model of Emotional Education to be very promising for study, analysis, and implementation in the teacher education system. Alexander Gennadievich acquaints students of undergraduate and graduate programs of TSPU with the basic principles of his author's concept at practical classes and webinars".

INDIGENOUS PEOPLES OF THE TOMSK REGION: PROSPECTS AND COOPERATION
Grigory Korotkikh, the specialist of the Department of Languages of the Peoples of Siberia of the Faculty of Foreign Languages of the TSPU and representative of the Association of Indigenous Minorities of the North of the Tomsk Region made a business trip to St. Petersburg, where he met with his colleagues from the Herzen University.
The purpose of the visit was to discuss issues of cooperation in the field of preservation and study of the indigenous peoples of the North and their languages. Joint work will serve as a serious step in the development of this scientific direction. There are many reasons for this:
- The TSPU is included in the list made by the Russian Academy of Sciences (Moscow) as a leading research center for the study of endangered languages. For more than 25 years, specialists of the TSPU have been studying the indigenous peoples of Siberia and their languages, collecting historical, ethnographic, archaeological and linguistic materials.
 - The Kolta Kup Association of the Indigenous Minorities of the North of the Tomsk Region is the oldest association of the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation, founded in 1989. Its mission is to protect the interests and rights of the indigenous peoples of the Tomsk region, to assist in the revival and development of culture and education of indigenous peoples, to participate in the protection of the environment in the areas of compact residence of the indigenous peoples of the North of the Tomsk region.
 - The Institute of the Peoples of the Herzen University is the only higher educational institution in Russia that trains specialists in the field of ethnopedagogy, ethnophilology and ethnocultural studies for the northern regions. Graduates of the institute help in the preservation, study and popularization of the native languages and culture of the indigenous peoples of the North, Siberia and the Far East of the Russian Federation.

At a meeting with colleagues, Grigory Korotkikh, spoke about the activities of Tomsk organizations, shared his experience in the preparation and holding of educational and cultural events, visited the Institute's library, learned the composition of the resources.
During the discussion of further joint work, agreements were reached in three areas of activity:
- Tomsk specialists and linguistic activists representing the Association of the Indigenous Peoples of the North of Tatarstan hold classes for the students of the Institute, raising issues that are unique for the St. Petersburg University;
 - assistance in the preparation of school programs for the study of the languages of the indigenous peoples of the North of the Tomsk region for the institutions of the Tomsk region;
 - creation of the Association of Teachers of the native language, literature and culture of the indigenous peoples of the North in the Tomsk region.

The first steps within the established cooperation have already been taken: professional portfolios of Tomsk linguists submitted to the Herzen university were approved. In addition, two other proposals from Grigory received support from representatives of the Tomsk Region Administration: on the inclusion in the school curriculum of disciplines for the study of the languages of the indigenous peoples of the North of the Tomsk region and the creation of the Association of Teachers of the native language, literature and culture of the small peoples of the North in the Tomsk region. The plans for the implementation of the two ideas include an active invitation to participate and other specialists of the TSPU.

NEW YEAR CONGRATULATIONS FROM TSPU RECTOR
New Year is always a great opportunity to look back and sum up what has been done and outline future plans.
“We are entering a digital dimension” an ordeal of distance education proved that the Tomsk Pedagogical University should become a truly digital university. Not only lectures, practices, but also conferences, signing of cooperation agreements with leading universities, commercial partners — from now on all this is done remotely. The distance did not become a limitation, but on the contrary, expanded the circle of our partners.
The Tomsk Pedagogical University declared itself as the flagship of the general education system and pedagogical science. This year the university became a member of consortia of leading foreign and domestic pedagogical universities: the Chinese-Russian Union of Higher Pedagogical Educational Institutions, the Consortium of Pedagogical Universities of Siberia. Together with Tomsk universities, the TSPU created the Postgraduate School in Education and Pedagogical Sciences.
Next year our university will have great potential to become an academic leader in training a new generation of specialists. The Tomsk Pedagogical is the official partner of the large-scale federal competition for teachers' teams "Teacher of the Future". In February, the semi-final of the competition was held at the university site, and in November the TSPU presented the Siberian Federal District at the launch of the student campaign "Teacher of the Future".
Everything achieved in 2020 and the possibilities of 2021 are the results of the joint work of the staff and students of the Tomsk Pedagogical. And, standing on the threshold of the new year, I want to wish us inspiration, fearlessness in setting ambitious goals and perseverance in achieving them, good luck and victories in creative and scientific endeavors. Of course, health and prosperity to our loved ones and families, who support us no matter what!
Happy New Year!
