Tatiana Gonchar, a graduate of the Faculty of Psychology and Special Education of the TSPU of 2020, became the youngest participant in the professional competition of teachers-defectologists "Teacher-speech therapist — 2021" was awarded the 1st-degree laureate diploma.
The professional competition "Teacher-speech therapist — 2021", which is held in Tomsk for the second year, consisted of three stages. The first round "Pedagogical discovery" was held remotely. The participants described the methodology they use in work and also presented personal websites. At the second stage (held live), the participants had to conduct an open lesson for an unfamiliar group of children according to the structure of the Federal State Educational Standard. As Tatyana notes, this test was the most exciting for her.
“It was necessary to find the very individual approach to each child, to gain trust, not to forget about the mastering of speech material. Of course, all of these factors provoke anxiety. Later, reviewing my lesson, I noticed mistakes that, it seemed, I would never have made under other circumstances. The knowledge that we acquire at the university becomes a powerful base for future professional activities. And the most important thing is to be able to use this it for good purpose”, — says Tatiana.
Despite the fact that Tatiana is already a graduate of the TSPU, she managed to maintain warm relations with the specialists of the Department of Defectology of the Faculty of Psychology and Special Education, to whom she can still turn for help. In addition, as the young teacher admits, from time to time she turns to her lectures, which she wrote during her student years.
As a result of the second stage, six finalists were announced, who in the final round held public reports at the academic lyceum of the city of Tomsk.
Having successfully passed all the tests and showing good results, Tatiana became the owner of the 1st-degree laureate diploma of the "Teacher-speech therapist — 2021" competition. During her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude to the representatives of the Information and Methodological Center of the city of Tomsk for organizing and conducting the competition and noted that every participant got huge experience due to non-standard situations simulated at the competition.

SPEAKING TURKISH: UNIQUE COOPERATION OF THE TSPU AND SIBCABEL
Turkish is the largest language in the Turkic group of the Altai language family. Its phonetic and lexical-grammatical structures are fundamentally different from Russian and other Indo-European languages. Currently, there is no language training in Turkish in Tomsk, so finding a practicing translator with fluency in the city is an almost impossible task. However, specialists from the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Cooperation of the TSPU are always ready to come to the rescue, they speak a wide range of foreign languages: from quite common English and German to the languages of small endangered peoples.
For example, representatives of Sibkabel came with a request to provide translation services from Turkish into Russian: the company works with one of the suppliers of equipment for the cable industry - Aymak Makine Ltd., Turkey, which engineers arrived from Istanbul to Tomsk for commissioning. To implement successful communication for the period of a business trip of foreign specialists (02.25.2021 - 03.04.2021), an interpreter with knowledge of the Turkish language must be present.
Deputy Director, Associate Professor of the Department of Translation and Translation Studies Valeria Mikhailovna Lemskaya was sent to Sibkabel to carry out consecutive interpretation.
“Interpretation in industrial production is a very difficult task, there is a definite challenge: the preparation takes place in the shortest possible time, the subject matter is often very far from the usual discourse. The translator has to apply all his skills", — says the acting director of the Institute Anna Gennadievna Bogdanova.
The visit of Turkish specialists is not only an opportunity for the Tomsk manufacturing sector to develop international cooperation but it is also another opportunity for the TSPU to strengthen its position in the translation services market in Tomsk, including in the provision of translation services from a language rare for Siberia.

The competition is a great opportunity for students to prove themselves. At the same time, I am sure that the semifinals have become for you not only an effective platform for realizing your professional ambitions but also a place for communication with like-minded people, exchange of experience and best practices. For us, as organizers of the “Teacher of the Future. Students” is a great opportunity to preserve the traditions of the national school, along with the development of innovative approaches, which are now being actively introduced into pedagogical activities. I hope that when you come to work in the education system, you will become the ones who shape the future of the Russian school”, — said Andrey Bogdantsev, the head of the project “Teacher of the Future. Students”
On the first day, the contestants took part in an open educational lecture held by Doctor of Economics, Professor of The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), Veniamin Shaevich Kaganov. The first online stage of the All-Russian professional competition "Teacher of the Future" has finished: 15 students of the TSPU are one step closer to victory!
10,000+ students from all over the country passed a three-level testing: functional literacy assessment based on the methods of international comparative studies of education quality (TIMSS, PISA, ICILS, PIRLS, ICCS), a general cultural test and a subject test (according to the chosen specialization). Only 600 contestants who scored the highest points were invited to the interregional semifinals: the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts will be presented by 100 future teachers, including 15 students from the Tomsk State Pedagogical University, and a total of 19 candidates will go to the semifinals from Tomsk.
The most difficult tests are still ahead, but, according to our participants, even the first round was not as easy as expected:
“In each of the three tests there were some difficulties, but the more interesting it was to complete the assignments, — said the semi-finalist Alena Fazleeva, a student at the Institute of Childhood. — Regardless of the result, it is important for me to test myself, try my hand and gain experience in participating in a professional competition".
There is no doubt that only the most fearless students of Russia have registered to participate in the large-scale test of professional skills. Although some students had doubts at this stage, the personal goals and prospects that await the contestants afterward helped them to decide:
“Registration was the most difficult stage: it was quite difficult to decide whether to participate in such a serious competition, since you need to have a significant base of competencies and self-confidence. On the other hand, such events allow you to reveal your weak points and correct mistakes in time. Therefore, I decided to take a chance, — says Ilya Trofimov, a student of the Faculty of History and Philology. — During the first stage of the competition the test for functional literacy turned out to be expectedly difficult, where it was especially difficult to solve problems with mathematical formulas: this is beyond the competence of humanities students. In general, participation in the final course of study will allow you to test yourself, your capabilities, to make sure you worth as a teacher and, perhaps, to discover in yourself something that you have never seen or felt before".
Already on February 24-26, future teachers of the Siberian and Far Eastern Federal Districts will meet at the Tomsk State Pedagogical University in the semifinals of the competition. Within two weeks, the semifinals will be held in six regions of Russia. Of the 600 participants, only 150 candidates will go to the final of the competition.
