Erkki Hamalainen and his wife Tuula – farmers
I am very grateful to Tomsk State Pedagogical University for the opportunity to attend the Russian language courses. All was organized just perfectly. We got acquainted with the University and its history. I am proud that I’ve got such an opportunity. Thank you very much to our teacher Ponomareva Ludmila Anatoljevna.
Erkki Olavi Kurppa – engineer
Our course of the Russian language was interesting and effective. We knew a lot of new things for the short period of time. It is necessary to continue studying the Russian language in order to strengthen this knowledge. I would also recommend this course to those who studied the Russian language earlier.
Helena Hermunen - farmer
My gratitude to the city of Tomsk and all wonderful people who worked with us and met us with kindness….
Anne Jottonen - interpreter
I am for the third time in Tomsk. The city is wonderful and it is always modernized. People are friendly. Pedagogical University is a classical university with old traditions and its teachers are professionals. Thank you very much to the organizers of our course of the Russian language.
Jukka Olsson - pastor
The course of the Russian language is short and effective. For the beginners it is difficult. I didn’t manage to understand and learn everything. I would like that teachers explain the material in Finnish.
Matti Nuppola – conductor at a train Helsinki - Vainikkala
My name is Matti Nuppola. For the whole life I was a conductor at a train. Already for seven years I am on pension. Tomsk is a very beautiful and modern city. It was very interesting to study here at University. But we had so little time to study here. I am very glad that I have visited Tomsk. People are very friendly.

WHY and WHAT FOR?
Why Tomsk? I am not going to be cunning and I want to confess that Tomsk was chosen because my mother, my relatives and friends live here. Here I graduated from the Faculty of History and Philology of Tomsk State University. Why Pedagogical University? Because the reaction to my inquiry on the possibility of taking a group to the courses of the Russian language by Professor Epp Vladimir Yakovlevich was immediate and detailed. And this immediate reaction to my questions was the same from the Faculty of Professional Development of Pedagogical University, Zubkova Natalya Konstantinovna. What for? To give my Finnish students an opportunity to continue studying the Russian language with a new teacher in new conditions without use of a native language. For me the method of participant observation for work of Ponomareva Ludmila Anatoljevna gave an opportunity to consider this course as my professional development, to look at myself and my students from the outside and to make some alterations in further educational process.
THANK YOU to all of You – Epp Vladimir Yakovlevich, Ponomareva Ludmila Anatoljevna, Vtorina Elena Venianimovna, Zubkova Natalya Konstantinovna, Yarovykh YulijaVladimirovna FOR: “We are waiting for you very much”- reaction of the Faculty of Professional Development staff; warm meeting at the day of our coming; for tea, coffee and sweets in the morning; for attention to ALL our requests; for the acquaintance with “yesterday” and “tomorrow” of your University; good lunches at your canteen. Finishing my declaration I would like to say that my native TOMSK represented by PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY was up to the mark and didn’t let me, Siberian, down. My deep gratitude goes to ALL who welcomed us so much!!!
