This is the ninth time humanitarian aid has been sent from the region to the inhabitants of the DNR, LNR and other liberated territories of Ukraine. The collection of humanitarian aid is carried out in all municipalities, among various organizations, including the Tomsk State Pedagogical University. The new shipment of humanitarian aid was organized by Acting Governor of the Tomsk region Vladimir Vladimirovich Mazur. The students of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University also joined the initiative. They were led by Vice-Rector for Educational and Youth Policy Dmitry Borisovich Nasonov who told about the educational mission with refugees and the creation of the documentary film "Unlost Childhood" by representatives of the university.
Kits of humanitarian aid included food (vegetable oil, canned meat and fish, cereals, pasta, tea, cookies, condensed milk), hygiene products, household chemicals, towels, bedding. Mazur thanked the townspeople for their caring and responsiveness:
"Residents of the Tomsk region were among the first to respond to the call for help. Every day they bring the necessities to the collection centers for those who have suffered from this tragedy. Today we are sending already the ninth batch of humanitarian cargo. And, of course, we continue to collect, and will continue to help those in need.
The collection points accept items and food necessary to cover basic needs. However, Tomsk State Pedagogical University more often receives stationery and books that are needed to organize educational activities for children. Future teachers, who initiated the meeting with refugees from the places of special operations, are also actively involved in the support process.
"In addition to humanitarian aid, which is collected by universities-paricipants of the Great Tomsk University, the Pedagogical team decided to provide residents of the DNR and LNR with psychological support as well, — said D.B. Nasonov at the meeting. — To implement the mission, together with the students of the TSPU, we went to the temporary refugee settlements in Lipetsk and Voronezh... In the process of work and communication with the evacuees we created a film "Unlost Childhood", the viewing of which can dispel all doubts about the need for a special operation".
The documentary "Unlost Childhood" is available at the university's public resources. Humanitarian aid collection points are still open for anyone who wants to help the residents of Donbass. At the TSPU, you can leave kits at the Primary trade union organization of students (Komsomolsky prospect 75).

TSPU STUDENT WON A MEDAL AT INTERNATIONAL KARATE COMPETITIONS
The Belarusian Karate Federation held an international competition "Friendship Cup", dedicated to the celebration of Victory Day. Among more than 300 wrestlers from Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus, Anna Skvortsova, a fifth-year student of the Institute of Childhood and Art Pedagogy of the TSPU, competed and won a medal.
When Anna was 17 a new hobby appeared in her life — karate, which soon grew into a vocation. Since then Anna is engaged in a martial arts school with the head coach of the Tomsk region in karate Ruslan Muradalievich Apaev. Student's sporting path did not accidentally cross with the pedagogical one: today Anna works with children and teaches her students karate skills.
Participation in international competitions in Minsk was not planned: Anna was preparing to fly to Cairo to the prestigious sporting world competition - the Premier League in karate. Due to the difficult situation in the world, access to the event for Russian athletes had to be closed. In this regard, the Belarusian Karate Federation decided to hold an international competition "Friendship Cup" between Russia, Kazakhstan and Belarus in their territory.
The tournament lasted for two days. For Anna it was the first participation in the international competitions and the first trip outside the Russian Federation:
"The tournament was organized on a high level, one could feel that it was a serious event, — she says. — Judges and coaches of international categories were present, it was very exciting to perform in front of them".
In the first fight the girl met with a representative of the National team of Belarus, and in the second, final competition, — with the first number of the Russian team. At the end of the competition Anna won the silver medal in the weight category of 50 kg (kumite section):
"Although I lost in the finals to the first number one of Russia, I was satisfied with my performance. I was lucky to meet such strong competitors, in which I had to give my best and show everything I learned over the years. I'm sure this experience will have a positive impact on my future career in sports".
Anna has been coaching the younger generation on her own for more than three years, which allows her to grow not only as an athlete, but also to gain pedagogical experience and develop skills in communication with children. Today the athlete is the master of sports and the trainer of Karate-club "Siberia" and she definitely is not going to stop at what has been achieved both in sports and in pedagogical activities.

CREATIVE CONTEST "LIVE AND REMEMBER" DEDICATED TO THE VICTORY IN THE GREAT PATRIOTIC WAR
The closing ceremony of the creative competition "I live and remember" dedicated to the victory of the Soviet people in the Great Patriotic War was held in the Institute of Childhood and Art Pedagogy. All students took part in it. They reflected in their works the importance of continuity of generations and the preservation of historical memory.
The project included several creative competitions and events: the exhibition of art works, performances of musical compositions and choreographic etudes. At the end of competitions were selected strongest works, which participants presented to the guests during the holiday.
The event began with an exhibition of art works of students of 1-4 courses of the Faculty of Culture and Arts. The authors told about the history of creation of each picture and spoke about how the war affected their families, what trace it left on the destinies of their relatives. For example, a first-year student Yana Tatarnikova who created the picture "My Maria Nikitichna" depicted her great-grandmother who worked at the timber-mill on a level with grown-up men in spite of being a child during the war. The artist wanted her work to emphasize the strength of a woman and convey memories of her great-grandmother, who contributed to the Great Victory.
After the guests became acquainted with the displayed artwork and immersed themselves in the creative atmosphere, a note of lyricism was added to the meeting by Elena Borisenko, a graduate student of the Faculty of Culture and Arts, who sang a solo song "Seagull". She was followed by a fervent song of the war years "Vasya Vasilek", a first-year student from China, Wen Chun Chen, who took the initiative to learn the words at his own will.
Vyacheslav Nikolayevich Tsarev, professor at the Department of Music and Art Education, congratulated the attendees on the upcoming holiday:
"I still caught the moment when on the morning of May 9 you could see a lot of veterans at the Victory Parade. Unfortunately, every year there are fewer and fewer of them. And all we can do is keep the memory of them in our pictures, songs, dances and stories. Victory Day is one of the most important holidays for Russia, a holiday with tears in its eyes. And I congratulate you with all my heart".
According to the jury's opinion, afterwards the students performed their best dance routines. Thus, a staging was presented by third-year students Olga Bokar and Nikita Petukhov, who showed in their dance their view of the war and life of those years.
During the celebration the project participants received awards - commemorative diplomas and gifts. The ceremonial awarding was held by Nikolay Andreevich Dolgikh, member of the Union of Artists and Designers of the Russian Federation, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor of the Department of Music and Art Education:
"It is gratifying that our students responded to participate in this project and decided to honor the memory of their great-grandparents, who with their own strength and lives forged the victory. They worked to ensure that today over our heads was a peaceful and clear sky. It is pleasant to realize that first-year students who are just starting their way in the world of art were not afraid to show their skills and now their works decorate the honorable exhibition on a par with the works of senior students".
At the end of the solemn event, the students, along with faculty and guests, gathered in a general circle and sang songs beloved by the frontline soldiers, songs that once gave hope and faith in a brighter future to the soldiers who went to defend their homeland.

YOUNG AND EXPERIENCED RESEARCHERS DISCUSSED DIGITALIZATION OF EDUCATION
The Institute for the Development of Pedagogical Education of the TSPU held a seminar-research "The impact of digitalization in education on the professional development of teacher-researchers. The participants, young experienced researchers, dealt with the issue of the significance of digitalization in education and pedagogical science.
The seminar-research brought together more than 50 representatives of different levels of education: undergraduates, graduate students, young and experienced scientists, teacher-researchers of the education system (preschool and general education institutions, institutions of higher and additional education). The event was the final in the series of seminars of the Second Scientific School.
During the work, the participants presented reports, which enabled a deep reflection on topical issues of digital economy and systemic digital transformation in education. Face-to-face and remote work with the cases of the autonomous non-profit organization "Digital Economy" helped to form an idea of the importance of teachers' digital competencies in modern society, as well as to extend the functionality of the "end-to-end" digital technologies used today in education and science. The final works of the teams "Scoring applicants for university admission", "Smart mirror for speech therapist ArtikMe", and "Digital platform for diagnosing and improving digital literacy of employees" were presented to colleagues and members of the expert and analytical group of the event.
"This is a relevant reflection of what is now happening in education. It was important to look at the proposed cases through scientific problems. To understand what this development is for, what role teachers play in it: it is important for a graduate student what scientific problem he solves," commented Mikhail Alexandrovich Chervonniy, director of the Center of additional physical, mathematical and natural-science education of the TSPU.
Along with the emerging risks in the use of digital resources (difficult assessment of the quality of content, lack of a uniform interface, additional time consumption for mastering the necessary tools, etc.), participants highlighted such opportunities as the clear structuring of large volumes of data, the use of modern algorithms for data analysis, allowing to form the most effective solutions for different levels of problems, flexible transition to personalized education and others.
"This kind of seminar should become traditional: we need to raise the "standards" with the most unexpected combinations of topics that may arise, - says Natalia Vasilyevna Bryukhantseva, chairman of the Tomsk regional branch of the public organization "Pedagogical Society of Russia". - With digitalization the speed and volume of incoming information is increasing. In 10 years there will be another generation, we cannot ignore it. This scientific school allowed us all to form our own position on the current topic and unlock our potential."
According to experts, the seminar-research became the starting point for the creation of the first postgraduate school of TSPU, which will present the results of pedagogical research in the field of digitalization in education at the next International scientific and educational forum "Pedagogy of the XXI century: challenges and solutions" TSPU, which will be traditionally held in April next year.

HIGH-TECH EQUIPMENT: EXPERIMENTS OF INSTITUTE OF FOREIGN LANGUAGES AND INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION
Student Scientific Association of the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Cooperation (IFLIC) of the TPSU conducts scientific research in the following areas: methodology of teaching foreign languages, language pictures of the world (comparative studies, studies of Turkic languages of South Siberia).
Some students are bilingual, that is, they speak two languages since childhood. At the Institute, they study two foreign languages and often notice that words in different languages may have similar spellings but are pronounced differently, otherwise an accent can arise that leads to misunderstanding.
The students decided to find out why the pronunciation of their native, second and foreign language is different. To reduce subjective perception, they used high-tech equipment. Mobile device Articulate Assistant Micro, designed for experimental-phonetic research, can make ultrasound imaging of the tongue from tip to root.
The project was supervised by Valeria Mikhailovna Lemskaya, deputy director for science and development at the Institute of the IFLIC, and Denis Mikhailovich Tokmashev, associate professor at the Department of English Philology and Intercultural Communication.
"Ultrasound pronunciation shows changes in the position of the mobile organs of speech in dynamics - whether a tongue works at the moment of pronunciation, whether it moves backward, whether it is tense, whether a soft palate moves. The recording shows which part of the tongue is working at any given moment of sound production", — explains D.M. Tokmashev.
In an experiment with bilingual students from Tuva, it was found that Russian, English, and Tuvan words with the same form are not pronounced in the same way. Thus, Tuvinian pronunciation differs in the greater degree of tension of the tongue, larynx, and soft palate. This is not the case in Russian. In English pronunciation, the tongue may be tense, but not the larynx. In addition, Tuvinian long vowels are distinguished by delayed tongue tension when the pronunciation of a vowel is lengthened.
During the experiment, it was found that some words in the Tuvan language are pronounced differently by native speakers. In some cases, vowels are pronounced briefly, while in others they are lengthened, and this is accompanied by a change in the position of the tongue and the degree of its rise. The experts of the Institute also noted a smoothing of the articulation in some speakers, "elevation" of the mobile organs of speech, first of all the tongue. All these observations were made possible precisely with the use of high-tech ultrasound imaging equipment.
"There has long been a stereotype in society that high-tech equipment is used only in technical science research. IFLIC breaks stereotypes and demonstrates that today high-tech equipment should also be used in the humanities, in particular in language research and teaching of foreign languages. Among other things, the use of such equipment stimulates students' interest in participating in research activities," says Anna Gennadyevna Bogdanova, Director of the Institute of IFLIC.
The intermediate results of the experiment were made into two videos and submitted for the All-Russian contest held by the National Research Technological University. And the student scientific association of IFLIC expressed its intention to continue its research.

The first speaker, Lev Belyanin, Associate Professor of Tomsk Polytechnic University, precise instruments specialist, gave a presentation on "The Role of Orientation and Navigation Systems in Exploring Earth from Space". The speaker spoke about what materials Russian spacecraft are built of and what parts they consist of.
Marina Nikolaevna Alekseeva, Researcher of Laboratory "Oil Museum Research and Information Center" presented a study "Impact of natural and anthropogenic factors on landscapes of Western Siberia regions using space images", where she demonstrated how Tomsk Region scientists carry out observations of the Earth surface and its landscape using remote sensing methods by means of satellite aircrafts.
Lydia Inisheva, Head of the TSPU Laboratory of Agroecology raised the issues of interaction between "Space and Natural Resources", discussing how satellite imagery allows tracking scale of expansion of Vasyuganskoye swamps and searching for peat deposits in Western Siberia.
Mikhail Yurievich Kataev, Professor of the Department of Radio-Electronic Technologies and Environmental Monitoring of TUSUR, discussed "Temporal and Spatial Peculiarities of Changes in the Atmospheric Gas Composition Based on Space Measurement Data" with colleagues and listeners. The speaker was actively answering the questions of the students, e.g. how to influence the minimization of changes in the atmosphere and slow down the increase of ozone holes.
Sergei Sergeevich Bondarchuk, Senior Researcher of the Department of General Biology and Biology Teaching Methodology of the TPSU, offered the guests an opportunity to get acquainted with the USSR spacecrafts and learn the history of their construction and their launch into space.
"Optical-Space Instruments for Atmospheric Research" were presented by Boris Alexandrovich Voronin, associate professor at the TUSUR Department of Automated Control Systems. He discussed the instruments used by scientists to study the parameters and properties of the atmosphere and the changes occurring in it.
"It was interesting for me to meet and talk to people who not only understand the topic of space, but also work in spheres related to it, — said Maksim Kostylev, a student of School No. 35. — I thank the university for holding such an event and giving us the opportunity to learn a lot of new. I liked that we could ask questions and get detailed answers.
At the end guests and researchers were able to discuss the information they heard and other questions on the topic. Afterwards, Mikhail Alexandrovich Chervonniy gave the students a tour of the classrooms of the Technopark of Universal Pedagogical Competences of the TSPU, demonstrating the full range of its functionality.

The boarding school for students with visual impairments received Raspberry Pi computers with the LUWRAIN non-visual application platform, developed jointly by the specialists of the TSPU and TSU.
The computers will help to create an informational and educational complex capable of supplementing the traditional Braille-based methodology.
"There is not enough time for students who use tactile writing system: a blind student has an opportunity to learn using educational materials and books written in tactile writing system and audio books. However, it is often inaccessible, because students do not have the opportunity to purchase Braille publications on their own (it is possible only in special libraries), which complicates the learning process, and the educational information often does not match the one contained in modern materials. Thus, students with special educational needs find themselves in unequal conditions with other students", — says Natalia Anatolievna Medova, head of the Department of Defectology at TSPU, expert of the LUWRAIN project.
The computers were handed over to the educational institution by Mikhail Sergeevich Pozhidaev, candidate of technical sciences and associate professor at the TSU:
"We live in the age of information technology, when there is a great desire to learn how to apply these technologies to solve the problems faced by visually impaired children in the learning process. Today, these devices are working in experimental mode, but I believe that they will be the beginning of a big undertaking and will help children learn under equal conditions".
As Mikhail Sergeyevich points out, the software set allows using ready-made components with open source code to create the applications necessary in the educational process of children with visual impairments. Only free components are used in the work, which remain available for use in Russia after the introduction of economic and trade restrictions by foreign commercial companies.
On the part of the educational organization the project is supervised by the teacher of biology Svetlana Mikhailovna Mikhailova:
"These computers will play a very important role in mastering the material by visually impaired students on a par with their classmates. Obviously, such an aid as innovative educational materials will make teaching the children many times easier, and the teachers' work will be more automated. We'll begin our acquaintance with computers with the biology textbook, and we hope that in the future it will be possible to study other subjects in this format".
The Raspberry Pi single-board computers that have been given to the boarding school students are inexpensive devices made by the British company Raspberry Pi Foundation, which remain affordable in the face of new restrictions. According to the Kommersant newspaper, there is currently an increased demand for computers of this type. Each kit includes the device itself in a metal case, a wireless keyboard, a power supply and headphones. Each set has a tentative cost of ten thousand rubles.
After the effectiveness on a simple task, such as working with literature in DAISY format, it will be possible to talk about expanding the set of applications by adding the necessary tools. Ready-made components, accompanied by pedagogical methodology of their application, can be distributed in the future to other correctional educational institutions in Russia and for use in inclusive education.

Student activists from the Center for Educational Work and Youth Policy at TSPU traveled to St. Petersburg to participate in the "More Than a Journey" program
In St.-Petersburg the guys participated in the cultural tour, which merged stories about the city on the Neva, its palaces and emperors and the life of legendary architects. During the visit to the oldest in Russia jewelry factory "Russkie Samotsvety" students themselves created their own ornaments.
"St. Petersburg is a dream city in every sense. Every step in it is imbued with culture, the unity of completely different European styles with Russian charm is striking. I am absolutely delighted with such an opportunity, provided by our university", - said Milana Kitsanova, a student of the Institute of Childhood and Art Pedagogy.
Traditional presentation of the excursion tour is combined with modern interactive forms. With the help of virtual reality glasses the participants immersed themselves in St. Petersburg of different eras, being practically in the same place. St. Isaac's Cathedral left everyone impressed: the students of the TSPU noted the historical power, talent and strength of the artists who are reflected in this greatest domed structure.
During these days, the Pedagogical Team had time to visit more than 10 different locations, including the Fabergé Museum, the evening city tour "Lights of the Night City," the parades and courtyards of the Northern Capital and others.
"It is not for nothing they say that St. Petersburg holds the history of our country. Each building cherishes a centuries-old culture. The city opened its doors to me for the first time, delighting me on sunny days and astounding me at night. Peter impressed me with its bird's-eye views and walks through ordinary courtyards", — said Prokhor Matveev, a student of History and Philology Department.
