The team of history and philology faculty of TSPU has participated in second regional stage of the All-Russian student competition in Russian language and literature dedicated to V.I. Dal and F.M. Dostoevsky. The competition took part at Omsk State pedagogical university and, apart from the host team, four teams from pedagogical Universities of Russia have participated in the event: Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, Altai State Pedagogical University, Kuybysheve branch of Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University. The list of Tomsk team members included: students Tatiana Firsanova, Ksenia Tarishkina, Alena Smirnova and postgraduate student of the department of modern Russian language and stylistics Alena Schutova. For two days, the participants have fulfilled different individual and team tasks in Russian and Literature. The most challenging was a test which included 60 questions from different branches of linguistics and literature. By the results of competition, Teams from TSPU and OmSPU have become winners and shared an honorary first place. As for individual competition: Alena Schutova became winner in Russian language section and Tatiana Firsanov a and Ksenia Tarishkina  in Literature section. In addition our team has taken the first place in rhetorical competition.

All-Russian competitions in weight lifting took place In the beginning of December in “Jupiter” sport complex. Among the Tomsk teams there were TSPU representatives who took the second place in team rating.

This event became a starting point for students involved in weight lifting from all over the country. In total rating TSPU participants have gathered 7 medals out of 17 (3 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 3 bronze medals). 

Senior teacher of TSPU economics theory department Santotskaya Ksenia Eduardovna presented Tomsk region on the All-Russian Youth tourism school that took place in Sevastopol between 25 and 30 of November 2016. More than 100 people from more than 45 subjects of Russian federation joined the school. The goal of this event is to stimulate the development of Russian tourism by involving Russian youth in forming and promotion of tourist products as well as to rise hospitality standards using innovative technologies, to give all the skills necessary for professional activities in tourism sphere. 

Federal professor Mikhail Volkov will present an open lecture dedicated to “Quick search Mathematics” on December 13 at the Tomsk State Pedagogical University. The event will start at 15:30 in room 311 (Komsomolsky prospect 75). Professor is going to tell about basics of combinatorial analysis and features of treating of vast amounts of data for resolution of quick search tasks. Mikhail Volkov is the leading employee of the laboratory of combinatory algebra and head of algebra and discrete mathematics department of mathematics and IT Institute of Ural Federal University (Ekaterinburg). He entered the list of winners of special contest organized by the Ministry of education and science of Russian Federation aimed at supporting of prominent Russian scientists.

The Faculty of foreign languages has celebrated its 85 anniversary with a gala concert. Students, graduate students employees and veteran-teachers of the faculty gathered together to mark the anniversary. During the event medals, diplomas and letters of thanks were given to the best teachers of the faculty. It was a great opportunity to recall a reach history of the faculty and its achievements. One thing that never changes is a high quality of TSPU education, rich experience of our teachers and devotion to our mission! 

The honorable second place and a silver medal in Artistic Fencing Championship brought home the fencing duet of artistic fencing studio «SABERIA». Viktor Lobanov, Ph.D., Associate Professor of TSPU Department of Pedagogy and Psychology of Education and Sergei Shmatko, a graduate student of TSPU under the direction of Doctor of Philosophy, Dean of the Faculty of Universitywide subjects S.B. Kulikov have participated in Championship. Not only the representatives of Tomsk State Pedagogical University approached to the Championship with all the responsibility and creativity, but they also combined sport, art and science in their performance.

"Since 2015 the project entitled "The impact of ancient ideas in modern science, culture and education" is implemented in the Tomsk State Pedagogical University.  As part of this project a complex scientific group that studies the influence of antiquity both in theoretical and practical terms was formed. This year, the scientific team not only has participated in scientific events in St. Petersburg, but also took part in artistic fencing competitions. The purpose of the participation was to identify the ancient "tracks" in the sports direction " - said Sergey Kulikov.

It was a ninth Russian artistic fencing Championship in St. Petersburg since the registration of fencing art as a new sports discipline, and the first, held in the northern capital.

Athletes from the Tomsk State Pedagogical University Viktor Lobanov and Sergei Shmatko, with their "Alternative scene" performance have won second place and the silver medal in the category "Art Fencing - Duet - Freestyle".

"In our performance we used some unconventional moves: in particular, we have used the scientific potential of Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Tomsk city as a whole. Work on the project of the Russian Science Foundation allowed us to prepare a performance on the basis of scientific ideas, which was quite important, interesting and spectacular in the eyes of the judges. We just updated the ancient ideals, tried to combine story, theater and fencing " - said member of the Tomsk duo Viktor Lobanov.

A TSPU team had presented a "saber fighting" show and it was most acclaimed performance of this kind in Russia.

For the seventh time the Pedagogical Faculty of Tomsk State Pedagogical University became the organizer of the Regional competition on pedagogy. And for the third year it is held in cooperation with the Department of General Education of the Tomsk region and the Regional Centre for Educational Development. The peculiarity of this was introduction of the two stages, the new stage included intellectual competition on the basis of inter-municipal centers for gifted students. This resulted in increase of the participants - 16 teams presented five municipalities of Tomsk area: the city of Tomsk, Seversk, Kozhevnikov, Kolpashevo and Bakchar regions.

The Siberian stage of XIII All-Russian student competition in history tool place at TSPU in the end of fall season.

The competition was attended by teams from the eight Siberian universities: Altai State Pedagogical University, V.P.Astafev Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University, Novokuznetsk Institute (branch) of State Federal-Funded Educational Institution of Higher Professional Training "Kemerovo State University", Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University, Omsk State Pedagogical University, Surgut State Pedagogical University, Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Lesosibirsk Pedagogical Institute (branch of the Siberian Federal University).

The main topic of the competition was as following "Power and society: historical forms of interaction (XVII-XX centuries.)." The tasks assigned to the participants, based on a material having a direct relation to the two most important forms of interaction between man and the state - authoritative regimes and ideological systems in their historical development. Participants have to show the level of theoretical and factual knowledge on the issue of the competition, to demonstrate their ability to analyze historical sources as well as readiness to solve professional tasks in the field of methodology of teaching history, ability to formulate value judgments, to build a system of evidence and argument on a given issue.
There was also a pedagogical stage, which included methodological modeling of competition and training sessions with pupils of 7-8 grades of school № 4. The competition was held in TSPU Scientific library, the educational environment of which allowed to use interactive equipment to conduct training sessions with schoolchildren.

According to the results of the Siberian stage of XIII All-Russian student competition on the history three winner-teams were chosen.

1st - team of the Altai State Pedagogical University.
2nd place - the team of the Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University.
3rd place - team of Novokuznetsk branch of Kemerovo State University.

In the individual championship  the first and second places were taken by students of Tomsk State Pedagogical University (1 st place - Tishkova Ksenia, 2nd - Alexander Kapustin), the third place was won by a student of Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University - Yelistratov Vladimir.

A «Pedagogical debut» contest begins tomorrow at 28 of November.

The teams of each faculty come together to participate in the pedagogical contest. The main goal of the event is the involvement of young people in the professional pedagogical activity, increasing social importance of teaching profession. The competition is divided into two stages. During the competition participants will have the opportunity to demonstrate their level of subject knowledge as well as to present their approach to organizing, conducting of classes and professional workshops and to present a creative performance of the team.

According to the result of each stage of the competition the nominees and winners of pedagogical contest will be revealed. The award ceremony will take place on December 9, 2016.

More than a hundred senior pupils from 30 Tomsk schools become participants of Student self-government conference «Leader», organized by Tomsk State Pedagogical University with the support of Department of Education and Science of Russian Federation.
