In December 2016 Tomsk State Pedagogical University has been certified for compliance with the requirements of All Union State standard ISO 9001-2015 (ISO 9001: 2015) within the framework of a voluntary certification system "International Center of Standardization and Certification ISCO» (Dubna) .

As a result of audit and management evaluation Tomsk State Pedagogical University has received a qualification certificate, which approves that TSPU  satisfies the requirements of GOST R ISO 9001-2015 (ISO 9001: 2015).

December 24 at the "Emerald City" shopping mall the rewarding of participants and winners of the regional ecological competition "Christmas bag" was held. The organizers of competition were students of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University.

More than 400 children and teachers have participated in the competition and presented their works in the following categories: best methodical development of the best design work, the best animation work, plane work of recycled materials, three-dimensional work of recycled materials, Christmas toy, string bag.

Awarding was held in the format of an interactive exhibition: there were the works of the participants - craftworks from waste materials, two workshops on making Christmas toys by the First museum of Slavic mythology (making happiness bird from patches) and design studio (owls from candy wrapper and cardboard cocks, the symbol of the coming New year), as well as a concert program with participation of vocal and dance groups of Tomsk, the project partners.

December 26 at the conference hall of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University’s Scientific Library the V International scientific seminar "Teaching Russian as a foreign language: theory and practice" was held. The event brought together about 30 participants and more than 50 listeners, including students, undergraduates of TSPU faculty of history and philology.

This seminar is a result of many years of fruitful cooperation between the Department of language theory and methods of teaching Russian of Tomsk State Pedagogical University and "Russian-Polish Institute" Foundation (Wroclaw, Poland). However, this year two Chinese universities have joined the seminar. Mudanjiang Pedagogical University became co-organizer of the seminar, and the delegation of the Heilongjiang Linguistic University (Harbin).

There were many interesting topics covered during the seminar:

Associate Professor of Heilongjiang University held a speech about the development of dialogue between cultures in the University area and shared her experience of introduction of Chinese students to Russian culture. Study is taking place in an atmosphere of internationalization that involves a joint study of students from cultures who participate in the culinary and creative contests, competitions.

Director of TSPU Center for Russian language Innesa Igorevna Babenko told about the possibilities of distance learning of Russian as a foreign language. Remote course will be included in the system of teaching Russian as a foreign language at the preparatory department of Tomsk State Pedagogical University in the next term.

Van Sinkhu, Master, PhD student of faculty of History and Philology has prepared an emotional report in Chinese and Russian languages that was devoted to the review of linguistic jargon of Russian youth in modern media and didactic problems related to the study of the Russian language as a foreign by Chinese students.

After pleasant chatting during the coffee break workshop continued to work in the form of problem discussions. Most important was the question of how to improve the teaching of the Russian language in Russia and China. The following topics were discussed: difficulties of adaptation of foreign students in Russian universities, the similarities and differences between the Russian and Chinese systems of training, the first practical experience of undergraduates in the teaching practice, the need to thoughtful development of information technologies. It should be noted that Chinese undergraduates of TSPU have prepared 20 interesting lectures on topical issues and the seminar itself became yet another effective form of training of the future teachers of the Russian language.

TSPU is actively involved in international cooperation between Russia, Brazil and China. Within the scope of visit of Chinese delegation from Mudanjiang pedagogical university the department of international cooperation of Tomsk State Pedagogical University together with faculty of Mathematics and Physics has conducted a trilateral teleconference between TSPU, China representatives and representatives of Juiz de For a University (Brazil) dedicated to physical and mathematical education in these countries as well as to discussions of realization of mutual projects in Physics, IT and education. Students of the Faculty of Economics and Management of Tomsk State Pedagogical University once again showed excellent results within the framework of the All-Russian contest "Crystal Orange". According to the results of the regional stage of the project, which were announced on December 12, 2016, two projects of Tomsk State Pedagogical University have earned victory and prizes. Ecological project "Christmas string bag", which purpose is to create a sense of environmental responsibility among the Tomsk citizens through creative activities (creating art objects from waste materials), won in the category "Public relations, advertising and media technology in the field of ecology”.

Favorite project of Tomsk citizens – "picture book" has taken third place in the category “public relations, advertising and media technology in the field of culture and art.”

The authors of these projects were students of TSPU Faculty of Economics and Management: Nemirova Alyona, Ivanova Darya, Trofimova Olga and Denis Pichuzhkin. As participants of the "Crystal Orange" our students are constantly keep on getting top places in this competition: last year” project of TSPU students took Grand Prix of the All-Russian contest.

In the regional stage of the competition, projects of TSPU activists became the best among more than 30 projects submitted for the competition. Now, both projects of students of Tomsk State Pedagogical University will continue competition at a national stage.

In the ranking of the demand for higher education institutions in the Russian Federation 2016, prepared by International News Agency "Russia today", Tomsk State Pedagogical University took the 7th place among the humanities (pedagogical and philological) universities.

The study included 446 high schools from 82 regions of the country. Evaluation of universities was carried out according to criteria such as the demand for trained professionals employers, commercialization of intellectual products produced by the university, as well as the relevance of the research product.

The demand for higher education institutions rating includes national, departmental, municipal and private universities offering training for primary and secondary higher education programs. Among them - 132 engineering colleges, 89 classical universities, 57 agricultural colleges, 53 management universities, 68 humanitarian colleges and 47 medical schools.

Representatives of Tomsk State Pedagogical University’s business incubator have successfully represented the University during the Second international festival of social enterprise, which took place in St. Petersburg at the University of IT, mechanics and optics.

TSPU students have presented three projects:«T&Pro»  – a platform for active school students interested in designing of projects,«Student City» - an internet source for foreign students that helps them to adapt to the Tomsk infrastructure; «Blackvist»  -  a unique platform for non-visual perception that helps to remove barriers in communication between people capable of seeing and those ones with sight problems.

According to results of international competition two TSPU projects have received high appreciation:  «Blackvist» project was included in the list of winner-projects of festival of social enterprise and «Student City » program received an audience award.

The festival is held among universities around the world to share best practices in the implementation of social projects and the development of social entrepreneurship. At the end of the event managers have defined business model, according to which the project will be developed in the future.

A great contribution to the plan made by the students of Tomsk State Pedagogical University, Residents of TSPU Business Incubator, who not only successfully presented the developed programs, but also showed professionalism by participating in the festival events.

Team of TSPU Business Incubator, which presented the winning project «Blackvist», will go to study at the Academy of Social Entrepreneurship at the University of California in Los Angeles.

Student self-government of Tomsk State Pedagogical University is well-deserved to be one of the most outstanding student association of Russia that regulary prove its status with victories of TSPU students in various projects and competitions.

In the end of 2016 Tomsk State Pedagogical University is once more awarded with diploma of the Ministry of science and education of Russian federation for “The best organization of student self-government in educational institution”.

The final stage of the "Best in Profession" contest took place at the Tomsk State pedagogical University. During this stage participants have presented their open lessons. Today the final stage of TSPU contest in teaching “Best in Profession” takes place. Five physics and five math teachers who will make it in the final stage will be fighting for a title of “The best specialist”.

This year’s competition started in October. The two stages of competition are behind. The stakes are high and competitors show amazing level of training. The third final stage will be the most hard and exciting. Each participant should present a part from his/her unique lesson.

This year the competition marks its fifth anniversary. One of the distinctive features of the competition is that participants are both students and teachers. Teachers-participants trains their student teams that deal with different tasks during the second stage of the competition thus bringing scores to their teachers.

In the end of the competition prize-winners in nominations “The best physics teacher”, “The best math teacher” will be chosen and awarded with diplomas and cash bonus.
