On 04.09.2017 according to the ranking system Ranking Web of Universities (Webometrics 2017) for the world's pedagogical universities Tomsk State Pedagogical University took the second place, having improved its positions by one place (previously TSPU was ranked third). According to the rating TSPU's web-site is remaining the first among the other Russian pedagogical universities.

Besides, the web-resources of Tomsk State Pedagogical University is included in the list of top 100 web sites of Russian Universities and in the last edition of the rating it took 24 place, having improved its stats by 8 positions comparing with the results of previous rating (previously TSPU took 32 place).

Dear colleagues – students, postgraduate students, teachers, employees of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University – the oldest pedagogical university in Siberia – I congratulate you with the day of knowledge!

Knowledge makes you stronger, smarter, kinder, it helps you to discover new truths, to reveal secrets of human and nature. No wonder the day of knowledge has become an all-Russian holiday – this happened due to the special social significance of science and education.

The last weekend students from the faculty of physical culture and sports and the faculty of foreign languages had took part in the Tomsk stage of all-Russian military and patriotic game «Zarniza».

Each year our students show good results and "Zarnitsa" 2017 was not an exception: after passing a series of difficult tests, the team of the TSPU earned an honorable second place,  having lost only in favour of the representatives of the Center for Professional Training of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

The participants had competed in overcoming the obstacle course, storming the block station and releasing the "hostage", rendering first aid to the injured. The participants underwent a test in putting on a combined-arms protective kit, assembling / disassembling automatic weapons, shooting. Players demonstrated physical and combat training, showed themselves in the tactical quest and fire relay. Organizers of "Zarnitsa" noted that, despite the complexity of the stages, the participants showed a high level of preparation, and most importantly - tested their skills in difficult conditions of the competition.

The student team of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University became the leader of the regional stage of the game among amateur participants. Now the guys are waiting for a trip to Ulyanovsk, where they will take part in the final stage of the IV All-Russian military-patriotic game "Zarnitsa". 

In the July issue of the popular scientific journal Physics Reports the article "Modified gravity theories on a nutshell: Inflation, bounce and late-time evolution" written by SD Sergey Odintsov in co-authorship with his collegue from Japan S. Nojiri was published. The article focuses on research in the field of modified methods of gravity, dark energy and inflation. Physics Reports journal is one of the most influential scientific titles in the world with impact-factor estimating to 17,425. The articles by leading scientists in physics and astronomy first must be approved by the editorial staff.

The group of the Spanish National Research Council (CSIC) published the "Ranking Web of Universities" rating of the Internet sites of the world universities (Webometrics 2017), according to which the Tomsk State Pedagogical University took the first place among Russian pedagogical universities.

The web environment of Tomsk State Pedagogical University took 24th place and was included in the top 100 sites of Russian universities. In the rating of web pages of Russian pedagogical universities, TSPU remains on the first position of the rating.

The rating is based on several criteria, according to which the success of the university is evaluated depending on its position in the Internet: citation - the number of unique links to the site from other resources, the size - the total number of pages of the site, the number and relevance of "data files" - publication files of research and scientific works.

On the last Saturday the unique project «Space lesson» organized and developed on the initiative of TSPU took place at the TSPU scientific library. This time the event has gained an all-Russian status: apart from Tomsk students the educational program was also available for students of «Sirius» educational center (Sochi).

The summer season of «Space lesson» was dedicated to research in open space conditions. The lesson was developed by the pedagogical staff of Tomsk State Pedagogical University with the support by the Tomsk Oblast Administration, the State Corporation "ROSKOSMOS", the Federal Agency of Scientific Organizations, the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation, the Russian Academy of Sciences, "Tomsk" broadcasting company, the Institute of Physics and Strength of Materials Science of the Siberian Branch of the Russian Academy of Sciences, were traditionally involved in the development of the lesson program.

The head of the Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin held an opening speech: «A very interesting topic was picked for the today’s lesson. The International Space Station is a super laboratory. Cosmonauts are not only travelers, but also scientists. And we all have to help them ... When you grow up, you too can participate in the scientific work that takes place in space»

During the third «Space lesson» the children traditionally went on the air the cosmonauts. The commander of the Russian crew of the International Space Station (ISS) Fyodor Yurchikhin told the children about scientific work in space; the participants of the Lesson presented the projects of the greenhouse and the flying drone for planet research. 

Postgraduate group of Chinese students have received their diplomas on 7th of July after the two years of studying Russian as a foreign language on the History and philology faculty of TSPU. It was the first graduation of Chinese students in TSPU history. Foreign postgraduate students have demonstrated spectacular results: according to the results of governmental certification 11 from 13 students have got excellent marks for defending their master’s degrees.

Postgraduate students from China have charmed teaching staff their diligence, responsible attitude to study and personal interest in the results.  «They are kind and sympathetic students that love Russian language, Russian culture and Russian people. During the period of study at the Master's program, foreign master students have increased the level of proficiency in Russian, each student more than once had participated in various conferences and had its articles published in Russian most approved scientific journals» - TSPU specialists say.

Students told us the time they spent in Tomsk and Tomsk State Pedagogical University was one of the most bright, significant events in their lifes. Memories of the studying the Master’s course at TSPU will forever remain in their hearts.

Tomsk State Pedagogical University, the leader of pedagogical education in Russia, opens its doors for future students: on June 20 in the university starts an admission campaign.

Every day from 9.00 to 17.00 the specialists of the Admission Committee of the TSPU are ready to answer the questions of the applicants and explain them features of the study course at each of the eleven faculties of the university as well as help with the registration of the necessary documents. Meetings of applicants with representatives of the Admission Committee of the TSPU, as well as the process of submitting documents for admission to the university will be organized in the main building of Tomsk State Pedagogical University (60 Kievskaya Street).

The Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation has summed up the results of the annual monitoring of the effectiveness of educational institutions of higher education. Tomsk State Pedagogical University has exceeded the threshold values ​​for all of the seven monitoring indicators: educational, research, international, financial and economic activities, salaries, employment, and the additional indicator. All in all 770 state, non-state, municipal and regional educational organizations of higher education and 691 branches of educational organizations of higher education have participated in the effectiveness monitoring of 2017.

There was a meeting of Vladimir Putin with supervising teachers in Kremlin. TSPU teacher of Physical culture and sports Roman Vinivitin was in this list of 25 teachers who have trained students that showed  highest results on school competitions and exams. He has been working at school in Novo-Kuskovo village since 2005 and this year he will say goodbye to the first school leavers of his teaching career.

"At the meeting in the Kremlin, various topics were discussed. Including the labor education of children and the payment of classroom supervising. Participants spoke about the modern educational system and how to make it more effective" – Roman Vinivitin shares his impressions on the meeting.

It should be mentioned that Roman was the only representative of Tomsk region on the meeting with president.
