A PhD thesis defense is possible without taking a postgraduate course if the candidate has executed a certain amount of research and his dissertation meets the requirements of the Higher Attestation Commission of the Russian Ministry of Education and Science.
The Dissertation Councils of the TSPU are licensed to award the PhD degree in the following fields of science:

A Council takes an application (standard form) of PhD candidate into consideration if the following documents written in Russian are submitted:

  • Curriculum Vitae. A photo 4x6 must be attached;

In a positive case, the decision is subject to be approved by the Higher Attestation Commission (HAC). After that, a foreign citizen will be conferred a diploma of state standard in English or Russian issued by HAC.
