TSPU Rector Took Part in the All-Russian Pedagogical Congress
On August 19, the Rector of TSPU, A. Makarenko, took part in the All-Russian Pedagogical Congress in Moscow. The event brought together 1 300 education professionals. The main topic of discussion was the Strategy for the Development of Education until 2036.
1st class Active State Councillor Andrey Fursenko read out a welcome address from Vladimir Putin:
«It is important that domestic pedagogy has always been characterized by a multifaceted approach, so it is necessary to consider the best traditions of pre-revolutionary, Soviet, and modern schools. Relying on this foundation, we must address key issues—from updating curricula to training teachers».
Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Chernyshenko noted the large-scale discussion of the strategy and announced the next steps:
«The most important stage is launching now. In August, the entire country will join the discussion. And after the Strategy is approved by the President's decree, we will begin forming a plan for its implementation. I am confident that the congress will become a platform for constructive dialogue and initiatives that will strengthen Russia's leading position in the field of education»
Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov emphasized the role of the teacher and stressed out the achievements of the Russian students:
«The decisions made and their implementation have yielded significant results over six years. Russia has entered the top ten leading countries in terms of general education quality, and the share of underperforming schoolchildren has decreased from 25% to 15%. Participation in subject Competitions have become a popular trend. In 2025, 8 million students—2 million more than in 2019—took part in the All-Russian School Competition. Last year, 79% of gold medals at international subject Competitions were won by Russians. In 2019, this figure was only 52%. The success of the Strategy's implementation depends on the main asset of the Russian education system — teachers... Neither artificial intelligence nor any other technologies can ever replace a teacher. Because only a person can instill spirituality, morality, and culture in another person».
Minister of Science and Higher Education Valery Falkov stated:
«All our key tools created in recent years: the large-scale university support program "Priority 2030", advanced engineering schools, student design bureaus, and many others are aimed at transforming the higher education system. We formulated this task for ourselves several years ago and now we are moving consistently and purposefully to achieve a different result, carefully gradually changing the existing system. The comprehensive response to all the challenges mentioned in the Strategy is the transition to a new model of higher education».
he discussion of the Strategy will be continued by TSPU experts at the forum "August.PRO: The Matrix of Pedagogical Changes" on August 21-23.
