TSPU — WINNER OF THE EEUA 2022 INTERNATIONAL AWARD
The project of the Department of International Cooperation of the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Cooperation of the TSPU won in the category "International Student Recruitment" of the annual international award EEUA 2022.
The competition of university projects in the field of internationalization of higher education in Russia and the CIS countries allows international projects of universities to gain recognition and fame, and gives experts an opportunity to exchange experiences and learn about best practices.
This season, the TSPU staff presented a Multilingual Page project. The idea originated in 2020, when the world was faced with coronavirus constraints, in particular the closure of borders and the complication of international student enrollment in higher education.
«Of course, we used old proven recruiting methods, but launching the multilingual page was a completely new experience, — says Vadim Yurievich Zyubanov, head of the International Cooperation Department. — The concept of multilingual page is to create a brief version of the site in several languages with basic information about the university, which can serve as a channel of communication between the staff of the university and potential students. When foreign students browse the page in their native language, they feel more confident in choosing a university or city to live in, and the feedback in the native language makes the communication process more comfortable. Today, a landing page version of the TSPU site is available in 10 languages: Russian, English, Arabic, Kazakh, Mongolian, Polish, French, Tajik, Japanese, and Vietnamese».
Foreign students of the TSPU were involved to translate the page into different languages of the world.
«Previously, we presented all information in English. Now the TSPU has an opportunity to post information in one of 10 languages of the world. Foreign students can get acquainted with the university in their native language, choose a program, and get answers to their questions, which makes the university more attractive and subsequently facilitates the adaptation process», — says V.Y. Zyubanov.
The University does not plan to stop at 10 languages: As soon as analysis of the market of foreign students shows that any foreign language is popular, the page will be translated into that language.
The project «TSPU Multilingual Page» and its prospects were highly appreciated by the members of the jury of the EEUA International Award. Our team won and received an award in the International Student Recruitment category.

The EEUA Award is given to universities for achievements in the field of internationalization of higher education and active promotion of Russia and the CIS in the global space. The EEUA Award was established by the Association of East European Universities in 2017. It is a non-profit initiative, and universities participate for free. The project gives even small regional universities the opportunity to share experiences and receive high praise from the jury.
The East European Universities Association (EEUA) unites Russian and CIS universities, supporting them in all aspects of international activities. EEUA has its own staff in 43 countries (Asia, Africa, the Middle East and Latin America). More than 1,500 recruiting agencies worldwide are EEUA partners. The Association was founded in 2010.
