BREAKING INTO THE TOMSK STATE PEDAGOGICAL UNIVERSITY
On September 1, the Tomsk State Pedagogical University opened its doors to new teachers who began a chapter of their lives called "Student days". Freshmen, among them winners of special competitions and participants of the "Open Pedagogical Class" project, were warmly welcomed by the university and in the evening all students and staff members were welcomed visited " Breaking into the Tomsk State Pedagogical University".
Students from the Institute of Foreign Languages and International Cooperation, the Faculty of Psychology and Special Education and the Faculty of Physics and Mathematics spent their first day in the building of the Technopark of Universal Pedagogical Competences of the TSPU. The staff of the TSPU informed the future teachers about obtaining scholarships, the schedule for the first two months of training, the rules of visiting the Scientific Library and delivery of teaching materials, and explained the nuances of using the electronic educational environment, which will act as a personal diary of the student.
Among the applicants there were many winners of competitions 2022 who chose the Tomsk State Pedagogical University because of its high positions in national and world ratings, strong teaching staff, student activities known throughout Russia, employment opportunities and professional practice during their studies, and many other things. Maya Rozanova is one of these students , who came to the TSPU to study at the Faculty of Psychology and Special Education from Novosibirsk.
Maya: "I have always been attracted to educational psychology, so immediately after graduation from school I started sending applications for admission to various pedagogical universities in the country. I got a call from the TSPU the day after I had submitted my application. I decided that this was a sign, — says Maya. — I had no doubts and did not choose, as I am sure that I chose the right direction and the university will help me grow into a professional in my field.
Some students chose their teaching profession while still in high school, thanks to their participation in the "Open Pedagogical Classroom" project by the TSPU.
«A couple of years ago I took part in the Self-Teacher initiative from the TSPU and thanks to that I began to consider the prospects of working in the pedagogical field. Our counselors were charismatic and talented students of the Tomsk Pedagogical University, which grabbed my attention. Then I realized that I wanted to be a part of this university,— says the student of History and Philology Department Elizaveta Oglodek. — I wish all of us a successful path to new knowledge, constant development and an unforgettable student experience».
The Biology and Chemistry Faculty and the Faculty of Physical Education and Sports welcomed the first year students in special buildings, where everything is designed for the best professional development. As in other buildings, the future teachers of biology, chemistry, geography and physical education went through events to get to know each other and the administration, and from the curators learned about the vibrant student life and its key events: "Dance for the Faculty", "Student Spring", "Battle of the Choirs" and others.
After the official part, all students and staff of the TSPU were invited to the evening event "Breaking into the Tomsk State Pedagogiacal University". Rector of Tomsk State Pedagogical University Andrei Nikolaevich Makarenko congratulated them with the Day of Knowledge, and emphasized the importance of 2022-2023 academic year - in October Tomsk Pedagogical University will celebrate its 120th anniversary, the celebration will take place over three days and will include the Teacher Day, and next year by the order of Russian President Vladimir V. Putin declared the Year of the teacher and mentor and will include a lot of thematic activities in the TSPU, as well as throughout the country.
The day ended with dancing and song numbers from the invited cover groups, students got to know each other and university staff. They participated in interactive activities, where everyone was able to express themselves, and ultimately they came to the conclusion that the Tomsk State Pedagogical University is first of all about people.
