"MORE THAN A TRIP"

Student activists from the Center for Educational Work and Youth Policy at TSPU traveled to St. Petersburg to participate in the "More Than a Journey" program

In St.-Petersburg the guys participated in the cultural tour, which merged stories about the city on the Neva, its palaces and emperors and the life of legendary architects. During the visit to the oldest in Russia jewelry factory "Russkie Samotsvety" students themselves created their own ornaments.

"St. Petersburg is a dream city in every sense. Every step in it is imbued with culture, the unity of completely different European styles with Russian charm is striking. I am absolutely delighted with such an opportunity, provided by our university", - said Milana Kitsanova, a student of the Institute of Childhood and Art Pedagogy.

Traditional presentation of the excursion tour is combined with modern interactive forms. With the help of virtual reality glasses the participants immersed themselves in St. Petersburg of different eras, being practically in the same place. St. Isaac's Cathedral left everyone impressed: the students of the TSPU noted the historical power, talent and strength of the artists who are reflected in this greatest domed structure.

During these days, the Pedagogical Team had time to visit more than 10 different locations, including the Fabergé Museum, the evening city tour "Lights of the Night City," the parades and courtyards of the Northern Capital and others.

"It is not for nothing they say that St. Petersburg holds the history of our country. Each building cherishes a centuries-old culture. The city opened its doors to me for the first time, delighting me on sunny days and astounding me at night. Peter impressed me with its bird's-eye views and walks through ordinary courtyards", — said Prokhor Matveev, a student of History and Philology Department.
