7 STUDENTS OF THE TSPU BECAME FINALISTS OF THE “TEACHER OF THE FUTURE. STUDENTS" COMPETITION
The first semi-final of the professional competition “Teacher of the Future. Students” has finished for the participants of the Siberian and Far Eastern federal districts.
According to the results of the semifinals, the Siberian Federal District will be represented by 21 contestants: 7 participants from the Tomsk Region, 6 students from Krasnoyarsk Region, 4 participants from Novosibirsk Region, 3 students акщь Omsk Region, 1 participant from Altai. The Far Eastern Federal District will be represented in the final by 4 participants: Primorsky Territory, Kamchatka Territory, the Jewish Autonomous Region and the Amur Region — one finalist from each district.

On the first day, the contestants took part in an open educational lecture held by Doctor of Economics, Professor of The Russian Presidential Academy of National Economy and Public Administration (RANEPA), Veniamin Shaevich Kaganov. During the case-tournament of the first day, future teachers competed in the ability to find solutions to psychological and pedagogical cases, analyzing situations from educational practice.
On the second day, the semifinal participants visited several schools and gymnasiums in Tomsk, talked with teachers and directors of educational institutions, examined innovative laboratories, got acquainted with non-standard assessment systems, teaching languages with the involvement of native speakers. After an introductory immersion in the educational environment, the contestants had to complete a number of tasks related to the development of solutions for specific schools in the region.
On the third day, as part of the semifinal events, a panel discussion “The Image of the Teacher of the Future. What kind of graduate do schools need?” was held. Representatives of the professional community discussed issues related to the demand for graduates of pedagogical specialties, as well as the features of modern pedagogical education for future teachers, the opportunity to come to the teaching profession for graduates of non-core universities.
