The Kettlebell lifting World Championship among juniors started last Wednesday in the Serbian city of Novi Sad. Students of Tomsk State Pedagogical University Dmitry Cherkashin and Olga Morozova take part in prestigious competitions and demostrated great results: Dmitry won gold with a personal record
After a successful performance, a weightlifter from the TSPU shared his impressions with the SportUs.Pro Sports News Agency over the phone: “More than 540 athletes from 38 countries took part in the world championship. In my category there were 17 athletes. I was pleased with my performance.152 lifts in a push and 190 in a jerk. In total, I showed my best career result. But I feel there is room to grow. As part of the world championship, I have yet to play for the Russian national team in the relay. My compatriot Olga Morozova, will also take part in the competitions. She will fight for the medal in the exercise 'long cycle push'"
It was noted earlier that athletes prepare for competitions on the basis of Tomsk State Pedagogical University, since both are students of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports of the TSPU. Hopes for gold were expressed by Aleksey Azhermachev, chairman of the regional kettlebell lifting federation, honored trainer of Russia: “In Serbia Dima will perform in the classic biathlon program, and Olya will perform in the “long cycle push” exercise. By the way, in this discipline at the World Championships, medals for girls will be officially introduced for the first time. In general, there is a chance to record yourself in the history of kettlebell lifting. We hope that Tomsk will really compete for one of the first awards in this form. As for the master of sports of international class Dmitry Cherkashin, here we rely exclusively on gold. In September, he pleased the coaches and fans with a victory at the home Cup of Russia, we are waiting for the repetition of success on the world level! ”
And he was not mistaken: the gold is in the hands of the TSPU student!
