TSPU STUDENTS OF THE FACULTY OF HISTORY AND PHILOLOGY AT THE MUSEUM
In the framework of the educational program "Museology" an excursion to the Tomsk Regional Museum of Local Lore named after M.B. Shatilov was organized for the second-year students of the Faculty of History and Philology of the TSPU.
Senior staff scientist Lyudmila Aleksandrovna Timofeeva talked with students, as with future colleagues. During the tour she told them about the methods of creating an exposition, organizing an exhibition space, the principles of the general concept of museum exhibitions and much more. The guys were surprised when they heard that the museum is located in the former mansion of the gold miner I.D. Astashev (XIX century). The building has great architectural and artistic value: the mansion retains the layout typical for the 19th century, the relief of walls, the furniture remaining from the time the monument was built, a concert hall where the organ is installed.
Each location of the museum has its own theme, which is associated with the history and / or nature of the Tomsk region. The essence and idea of the exhibitions are perfectly conveyed by the genuine artifacts gathered together, reconstructions, artworks, collections of objects and modern technical equipment.
“If we were asked what a museum is, we would say that this is a place where you can meet with the past, - students share their emotions. - The museum preserves things that were long before our appearance, what remains of the past and nowadays it has great historical and cultural value. Therefore, before the excursion to the museum there is a feeling of an upcoming meeting with something unusual and special"
