SPRING SCHOOL OF THE RUSSIAN LANGUAGE AND CULTURE FOR JAPANESE STUDENTS
Tomsk State Pedagogical University hosted the annual Spring School of the Russian Language and Culture for students from Japan. This year, five students from Ochanomizu University (Tokyo) and three students from Hiroshima University came to our university.
Anastasia Sergeyevna Savenko, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Modern Russian Language and Stylistics of the Faculty of History and Philology conducted daily lessons in Russian as a foreign language. Workshops on traditional Russian doll were organized and conducted by Innesa Baborenko, Ph.D., assistant professor of the theory of language and methods of teaching Russian language. The cultural and educational program, included not only lessons and seminars, but also cultural and entertainment events: presentations, workshops, theatrical trainings, Russian cuisine, a Russian baths visit was organized by the staff of the Department of International Cooperation of TSPU.
In the end of the school's programm there was an youth event which was attended by students from Tomsk who are fond of Japanese language and culture, students and teachers of our university. Reports, presentations of course participants were very interesting and informative. In addition, the guys took part in the musical-theatrical show in Russian. Having completed the spring school the Japanese students took part in the TSPU International student games where the Japanese team took the second place in the overall standings.
