TSPU STUDENTS HAVE VISITED TOMSK REGIONAL MUSEUM NAMED AFTER SHATILOV
Students of the Faculty of History and Philology of the TSPU marked the 100th anniversary of the 1917 revolution by visiting the Tomsk Regional Museumnam . M.B. Shatilov.
They visited the exhibition "When the Trees were Big", the exhibition "Under the constellation of the Big Elk: the secrets of the Kulai universe", devoted to the history of the Kulay archaeological culture, got acquainted with the project "Sibiryaki free and involuntary", dedicated to the memory of those people who, had left their native places by their own will or by the will of those in power and went to Siberia.
Students-historians were particularly impressed, by the exhibition "Revolution in Focus" which was prepared by the museum staff for the centennial anniversary of the 1917 revolution. At the exhibition you could see more than a hundred photographs from the album of an unknown photojournalist who recorded all the events taking place in Tomsk in 1917, get acquainted with telegrams, leaflets of the election campaign and the newspaper "Siberian Life".
Thanks to these images, it is possible to trace changes in people's moods, plunge into the revolutionary atmosphere of the city: photos show demonstrations, rallies, soldiers of the Tomsk garrison, crowds of students, queues of ordinary workers, their emotions.
