TSPU HAVE PARTICIPATED IN THE FIRST «SPAСE LESSON»

On February the 1st Tomsk students and pupils went on the air with International space station during the first «Space lesson» which was held in Tomsk Palace of youth art.

Among the participants of the first lesson were the main organizers of the project – governour of Tomsk region Sergey Zhvachkin, vice minister of science and education of Russian Federation Lyudmila Ogorodova, official representative of «Roscosmos» Evgeniy Stepanov, director of Institute of physics of strength and material science Sergey Psahe and vice-general director of All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company Rifat Sabitov, rector of TSPU Valery Obukhov, rector of National research Tomsk polytechnic university Petr Chubik. 

Rector of Tosmk State Pedagogical University Valery Obukhov held a speech in front of the project’s participants “Dear friends! School teacher from Kaluga, the founder of astronautics Tsiolkovsky wrote: "Earth is the cradle of humanity, but you cannot stay in the cradle forever." Our house is a huge universe. Of course, it is physically impossible to reach its farthest corners, but there are no boundaries for the human mind. World famous scientists - cosmologists of Tomsk State Pedagogical University - together with their students are studying the past, present and future of the universe. Your successful future - also the subject of special concern for pedagogical universities, that is why the Pedagogical University became one of the initiators of this project. We will reveal to you the history of scientific and technological progress of mankind, leading it to the stars, show the role and importance of national science and technology in this process. And maybe it is you who will have to unravel the deepest mysteries of the universe! Good luck on this Star Trek.”

TSPU teachers and students had prepared to this event in advance: they conducted a series of physics lessons in Physics in schools of Tomsk and Tomsk regions. During the 30 minutes online broadcast around 50 school students have asked their questions to the about living in the space station, astronauts’ favorite literature and school lessons, about possibility of Internet-access on board of ISS, scientific experiments and other topics. TPU scientists together with Institute of physics of strength and material science have developed a 3-D printer specially build for operations in space. Printer  was tested in the auditorium of “Space lesson” during the broadcast and it is expected to be taken on board of ISS next year.
