The team of TSPU physicists under the leadership of Boris Sergeevich Merzlikin, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, researcher of the Center for Theoretical Physics of the TSPU, became the winners of the competition for the right to receive grants of the President of the Russian Federation for state support of young Russian scientists - candidates of sciences in 2019-2020. The scientific project "Supersymmetric quantum field theory and the field of higher spins in various dimensions" was received the grant. The project developers also included employees of the TSPU Timofey Vladimirovich Snegirev, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Researcher of the Research and Development Department, Alexandra Sergeevna Budyohina, Master student of the Physics and Mathematics Faculty of the TSPU.

Within the framework of the regional project of the TSPU "Facets of Additional Education", in partnership with the Education Department of the Tomsk Region, a project of a municipal level was developed. During this year students of the Tomsk State Pedagogical University will meet with children from countryside and teach them modern dance, educational robotics, computer graphics, volleyball, athletics, technology and visual arts.

To date, the future teachers have already held two meetings. “Students are keen on preparing classes with children, discovering new aspects and nuances of the educational process in the system of additional education, - said the project coordinator, head of the employment assistance department of the TSPU S.V. Shalyapin. - Problems also take place: issues of both organizational and pedagogical nature, and tricky questions from children. But on the other hand, the discovery of new qualities and opportunities, pride in getting out of a difficult situation, decent construction of classes, new knowledge, sympathy for children, many of whom go to classes from a nearby village or walk 1-2 kilometers - this is an invaluable experience of professional self-determination and pedagogical formation ”.

Already in April, the project organizers plan to implement educational programs for other groups of students.

A similar project is being implemented in our region for the first time and is a unique chance for young professionals to become familiar with the conditions of teaching and living in rural areas. In addition, school administrations can look at their future colleagues and invite them to full-time work. Another indisputable advantage of the project is that children from remote settlements will be able to complete new courses of additional education, get the maximum of knowledge that will be useful to them in life and professional self-determination.

Tomsk State Pedagogical University hosted the annual Spring School of the Russian Language and Culture for students from Japan. This year, five students from Ochanomizu University (Tokyo) and three students from Hiroshima University came to our university.

Anastasia Sergeyevna Savenko, Candidate of Philology, Associate Professor of the Department of Modern Russian Language and Stylistics of the Faculty of History and Philology conducted daily lessons in Russian as a foreign language. Workshops on traditional Russian doll were organized and conducted by Innesa Baborenko, Ph.D., assistant professor of the theory of language and methods of teaching Russian language. The cultural and educational program, included not only lessons and seminars, but also cultural and entertainment events: presentations, workshops, theatrical trainings, Russian cuisine, a Russian baths visit was organized by the staff of the Department of International Cooperation of TSPU.

In the end of the school's programm there was an youth event which was attended by students from Tomsk who are fond of Japanese language and culture, students and teachers of our university. Reports, presentations of course participants were very interesting and informative. In addition, the guys took part in the musical-theatrical show in Russian. Having completed the spring school the Japanese students took part in the TSPU International student games where the Japanese team took the second place in the overall standings.

Tomsk State Pedagogical University students from the UK, Poland, the Czech Republic, Brazil, Japan, China, Mongolia and the CIS countries, who arrived at the TSPU to study in the framework of academic exchange programs, became participants in the first international sports festival, held at our university last Saturday.

The athletes were welcomed by the vice-rector for international activities and informatization of the TSPU K.E. Osetrin, vice-rector for youth policy and educational work of the TSPU D. B. Nasonov, Head of the Department of Physical Culture and Sports of the TSPU; Secretary of the Organizing Committee I.А. Zyubanova.

Having divided into five teams (two representatives from each national group), the students faced the challenges in Darts, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Bowling. In addition, the competition included the educational part: while the players demonstrated their athletic skills, a selection of historical and cultural facts about the countries represented at the Games was played in the hall. Having coped with the main sports, the participants started to complete tasks of the relay: passing the ball, balance exercises.

“In England, we mainly play football, - says Andrew Johnson, a student at the University of Bristol. - And here the sport is completely different, we were offered to try many different directions. There were unusual exercises, it's so much fun! ”

Between the competitions the young athletes demonstrated martial arts - karate and wushu. Representatives of the participating teams showed colleagues their national games.

The winners and prize-winners of the Games of the TSPU peoples were awarded with cups and medals made of traditional Russian materials (birch and bark), the teams received sweet prizes and commemorative pictures.

The international student sports festival of the TSPU is a unique international sports event for our city. It was organized by specialists of the department of international cooperation of the university, who are continuously working to expand the boundaries of international partnership, as well as representatives of the Faculty of Physical Culture and Sports, the TSPU sports club and the Main Jury committee.

According to the reseatch conducted by two international organizations UniRank and UniPage, specializing in ranking in the field of higher education in Russia and abroad, the Tomsk State Pedagogical University have taken the leading position among pedagogical universities of Russia and is included in the TOP 50 of best universities of our country (45 and 48 place respectively). ).

Recently, international systems and organizations that provide a wide range of services, including assistance in choosing educational institutions and academic programs, have become widely popular.

Specialists of the Department of the Siberian people of the Faculty of foreign languages of the TSPU and Tomsk regional public organization "Union of Indigenous Peoples of the North of the Tomsk Region" have organized a joint festival “The Languages of the Peoples of Siberia - Our Cultural Heritage” for students of the Tomsk Basic Medical College.

The meeting started with a video about the Interregional Festival of Indigenous Peoples of Siberia "Etudes of the North", which is held annually on the Oskino Lake in Parabeli and entered the TOP 200 best events of the year. Irina Anatolyevna Korobeynikova, President of the Union of Indigenous Minorities invited everyone to attend the festival in August 2019.

From the presentation of E.A. Kryukova, Head of the Department of Languages ​​of the Peoples of Siberia of the TSPU, students and teachers of the college learned about the indigenous peoples living on the territory of the Tomsk Region and neighboring regions.
Grigory Korotkikh, a student of the Faculty of Foreign languages of the TSPU and assistant to the president of the organization, spoke about the activities of the regional public organization “Union of Indigenous Peoples of the North of the Tomsk Region”, and invited students to participate in Selkup language classes.

The event was accompanied by songs in the Selkup language, and ended with a photo session: the students and teachers of the college were given the opportunity to take pictures of themselves in the Selkup accessories.

he International Student Chess Festival took place in Krasnoyarsk as part of the cultural program of the XXIX World Winter Universiade in 2019. Tomsk region was represented by TSPU student  Egor Pakhomov, who took the second place prize.

“That is great that the cultural program of the Universiade includes such a wonderful intellectual and ancient game like chess. Our festival brings together both schoolchildren and students. These are people who shape the future of our country. Chess can be called the 12th, unofficial, sport of the Krasnoyarsk Universiade! ” - said the head of KRASSPORT Valery Chernousov.

In the student competition Egor Pakhomov, a member of the Tomsk region chess team, scored seven points, losing to his opponent only due to additional indicators.

Amonge Egor's competitors there were students, graduate students, undergraduates of educational institutions of higher education. The participants of the tpurnamnet included the strongest chess players from Siberia and Russia, a former world champion among students, six international masters, three international grandmasters, and three players who are included in the top 50 in rapid chess in Russia.

Valeria Anisimova, a student of the Faculty of Physical culture and Spors of the TSPU won the silver medal in the Russian Sambo Championship which was held in Kazan. About 850 sambo wrestlers from 67 regions of the country took part in the championship. Among the participants of the championship are 27 honored masters of sports, 91 international-class masters of sports of Russia and 375 masters of sports of Russia.

Tomsk region at the competition was presented by the student of Tomsk State Pedagogical University, student of the Tomsk Regional Sports School of Olympic Reserve, an athlete-instructor of the "Rus" Children’s-Junior Sports School, and an international-class master of sports of Russia, Valeria Anisimova. In the 64 kg weight category, Valeria won a silver award.

According to the results of a successful performance, a student of the Federal Physics and Culture University joined the Russian national team and will take part in the European Championship, which will be held in the Spanish city of Gijon from 16 to 20 May.

The All-Russian seminar for regional coordinators of the  public observers of the Russian Union of Youth (RUY) was held in the capital of our country. Tomsk region was presented by a student of the Faculty of Economics and Management of the TSPU, the coordinator of the Tomsk Region, Ksenia Bondarenko.

The venue gathered 89 participants from 76 subjects of the Russian Federation - coordinators of the public observers project , representatives of the executive authority. Together with colleagues, discussion and training platforms, case-championships and  seminar "Best Practices for Projects in the Regions" were held. Experts gave the lecture on changes in the regulatory framework for 2019.

Every year the Tomsk State Pedagogical University hosts a competition of professional skill and creativity "Pedagogical debut" for graduate students . Future teachers will have the opportunity to demonstrate their pedagogical skills within the framework of the competition program, present the developed model of the organization of the educational process, try themselves as additional education teachers and conduct creative activities for Tomsk schoolchildren.
By tradition, the captains of the teams of 10 faculties of the TSPU, the winners of the competition are awarded with  a journey to the cultural capital of our country.
