TSPU and the My History Foundation to Host Russian Language and Culture Festival in Rwanda

Tomsk State Pedagogical University, together with the My History Foundation and with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education, will host the Russian Language and Culture Festival in Rwanda.

The festival will take place in Kigali from September 11 to 13, 2026. It will give Rwandan residents an opportunity to discover Russian language, culture, and traditions, as well as learn more about opportunities to study at Russian universities.

On September 8, TSPU faculty members will arrive in Kigali to prepare the festival’s educational and cultural program. Over the three-day event, participants will have an opportunity to attend introductory Russian lessons, lectures, creative workshops, a language festival, a Russian language competition, and a film screening, along with other educational and cultural activities.

A special part of the program will focus on opportunities to study in Russia. Participants will learn about Russian universities, admission and study requirements, and have an opportunity to talk to Rwandan students who are currently studying in Russia.

The festival will also mark the beginning of a new stage in the work of TSPU’s Center for Open Education in Rwanda. On September 14, the Center will launch free in-person Russian language courses in Kigali for Rwandan residents interested in learning Russian and discovering more about Russia.
