TSPU Scientific Library Wins Silver at National Book Exhibition Competition

On December 24, the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education announced the winners of the 2nd All-Russian Competition of Book Exhibitions. The event aimed to showcase best practices in organizing book displays at university libraries. The competition featured 45 entries from across Russia. The team from TSPU’s A.M. Volkov Scientific Library won second prize in the «Online Exhibition» category with their project, «Sergеу Yesenin: Yours, faithfully».

The exhibition was submitted by library staff members Elvira Stepanenko, Chief Librarian, and Ekaterina Kadomets, Head of the Electronic Resources Section. Designed as a multimedia journey to mark the 130th anniversary of the Russian poet Sergei Yesenin, the online display goes beyond a simple booklist, incorporating audio, video, and archival materials.

«Sergey Yesenin lived so briefly yet said so much that his words still resonate with anyone who has ever seen Russia’s endless fields, smelled ripe ashberries, or pondered life’s eternal questions, — the project authors note. — Yesenin is not just a poet; he is a phenomenon. His verse, filled with piercing love for the homeland and poignant sadness, remains strikingly relevant today».
The library team believes this national recognition confirms their ability to engage digital-native readers, present classics in interactive formats, and showcase their collections in compelling new ways.

The virtual exhibition invites visitors to explore the poet’s life and creative journey, revisit or discover his poetic works, encounter Yesenin as a prose writer, and delve into the most captivating biographies and memoirs by his contemporaries.
